If the draft was now! top 10.

From my calculations Fremantle won't win another game.

Richmond play North, Melbourne and West Coast in the next few weeks and could potentially get another 3 wins.

So the draft order could go could look like

#1: Melbourne -
#2: Fremantle -
#3: Melbourne -
#4: North Melbourne -
#5: West Coast -
#6: Richmond -
#7: Sydney -
#8: Hawthorn -
#9: Port Adelaide -
#10: Essendon -[/quote]

My top ten would therefore be

Melbourne - Scully - number 1 no matter what
Fremantle - Morabito - will probably look local
Melbourne - Butcher - has been playing injured. will still be regarded highly and melbourne will be hoping for a Watts, Jurrah, Butcher star forward line.
North Melbourne - Trengove - probably second best mid on offer. might go earlier. hoping richmond play more kids and shore him up.
West Coast - Lucas - local gun - might be tempted by a key position player though.
Richmond - Koby Stevens - will want to add skill to the midfield
Sydney - Panos - no oloughlin and hall will need a key forward to join the young lewis johnston in the stables
Hawthorn - Kyle Hartigan - my smokey. hawks will need a key defender. isn't overly damaging but very effective defensively.
Port Adelaide - Tapscott - no nothing about him. just copying other guys. pretty sure he is a SA powerful small goal kicker.
Essendon - Dustin Martin - hard working mid

I think Freo will win one more game for the year.

It will be the derby, they have been owning us with there recent record.

They will have Sandy and Pav back for the match, and its a Freo home game.

So the crowd will be all Freo supporters, and they will lift like they usually do, unfortunately.

went and watched Kane Lucas play for east freo last saturday. 18 possessions from 3 qrters didnt play the last quarter because he cramped up quite badly! But yeh played a very good game from what i saw and kicked a nice goal from the pocket and also took a few strong marks.

#1: Melbourne - Tom Scully
#2: Fremantle - Jack Trengove
#3: Melbourne - Anthony Morabito
#4: Richmond - Dustin Martin
#5: North Melbourne - John Butcher
#6: West Coast - Kane Lucas
#7: Sydney - Daniel Talia

From there its anyones guess!
wouldnt be too happy if we passed on butcher if he was still available, although martin does sound pretty good we do need a big power forward.

Will do a more accurate version now with VV's order: (July Edition)

#1: Melbourne - Tom Scully
#2: Fremantle - Anthony Morabito
#3: Melbourne - John Butcher
#4: Richmond - Jack Trengove
#5: North Melbourne - Gary Rohan
#6: West Coast - Kane Lucas
#7: Sydney - Nathan Vardy
#8: Hawthorn - Jesse Crichton
#9: Port Adelaide - Matthew Panos
#10: Essendon - Koby Stevens

you want koby dont you :p

rohan and vardy surely wont go that high?

I don't think sydney will go for Panos because they already have Lewis Johnston from last year. I think they will go for a defender such as Talia or the best midfielder available.

Pick 1 - Melbourne: Tom Scully
Pick 2 - Melbourne: John Butcher
Pick 3 - Fremantle: Anthony Morabito
Pick 4 - Richmond: Jack Trengove
Pick 5 - Kangaroos: Dustin Martin
Pick 6 - West Coast: Kane Lucas
Pick 7 - Sydney: Matthew Panos
Pick 8 - Hawthorn: Koby Stevens
Pick 9 - Port Adelaide: Luke Tapscott
Pick 10 - Essendon: Daniel Talia

I have a feeling Melbourne will stick to their guns and take Butcher at 2. But there is a strong possibility they might take a different type of mid in Morabito at 2 or even take Trengove if they see he is the next best availability. IMO pick 2 will shape the draft. WA are going to be looking local and I think there are a host of players I haven't listed that could conceivably all be first rounders. If Freo get pick 2 it could throw everything into chaos or it could be a straight swap of the 2 and 3 I listed. And to anyone from interstate, if you don't think Morabito has the potential to play every game next year and become in the elite of the competition, you haven't seen enough. Watched him yesterday at Peel and was brilliant in patches.
Johnny wouldn't you think that Freo might take Butcher/Panos as there first pick.I believe they need an upcoming KP Forward.

You already have enough mark and kick players...you don't need another. What you need more than anything is a big bodied onballer with some quality....Martin is the pick right now!

#1: Melbourne - Tom Scully easy Choice
#2: Fremantle - John Butcher I recon there will go for KP player and Butcher is the best one
#3: Melbourne - Jack Trengrove - Would love another gun talent in the midfield
#4: North Melbourne - Kane Lucas - Will be Looking for a Running Midfielder with Rawlings and Simpson retired soon
#5: West Coast - Anthony Morabito - Will go for a running player or a KP but i recon there will go with Marabito
#6: Richmond - Gary Rohan Would Love a tall Forward Rohan is the best choice
#7: Sydney - Matthrew Panos - Sydney will be searching for a Key Forward Panos is the man
#8: Hawthorn - Daniel Talia - Will be looking for a KP Player. This is a hard choice
#9: Port Adelaide - Jack Fitzpatrick - Would Love another Ruckman Forward with Lade and Brogan aging
#10: Essendon - Koby Stevens - There would a love a hard inside player Stevens is the man

Matera is too young this year.
Freo will go best available player with there first pick but if it came down to 2 players being equal I reckon they will go for a tall forward as we have no key forward of any talent whatsoever on our list (apart from Pav). Butcher would have to be a big show if still available at Freos first pick. Having said all that Freo are only a chance to win one more game for the season against there bitches West Coast. We will get towelled up by everyone else between now and round 22

Ect...

Trying to break things up a bit, Freo to beat Westcoast and lose every other game finnish last and get the third pick.
Westcoast to lose every other game, legitimatly go down to Richmond but questionably lose to North.
Melbourne to lose every game but against Fremantle where they let them get 40 points in front halfway through the third.

Im not sure any club bar fremantle will end up with less than four wins or less in all honesty.

Not sure where in the draft, but i think West Coast will definitely pick up Lewis Jetta. Hopefully we pick Morabito with our first pick. Melbourne will no doubt pick Scully at #1.

I'd think Jordan Gysberts would be somewhere in that range by draft time.

Also, I doubt Hooper goes quite that early, just because of his size.

But good effort.

At the moment im just throwing names around. Surley the larke medal has helped Hooper, perhaps not that early but i would not rule out him going in the second round.

I would take Travis Colyer with our second round pick without a second thought. Hes a 175-177cm midfielder.

Yeah, and at that size he's still 3-5cm taller than Hooper. At a certain point, a guy is so small that clubs won't even consider him that high.

It's the same reason that I don't see Allen Christensen in the first two rounds either.

Some big calls there VV, saw you have Fitzpatrick in your top ten on EB&W and no Bundy in the first two rounds:eek:. You might want to have a closer look at those two players.

wait up what about eagles tanking their way to 2 and 4 ?
Valid point. With the bottom 4 teams all playing each other in the last 7 rounds there could be some very ugly footy.

jack trengrove from SA will go # 1, no doubt. Scully has a permanent shoulder injury apparently, and his woeful skills at times let him down. also needs to put on weight and wouldn't play for 3-5 years. Trengrove is melbournes first choice

hooper 3rd round simly because of his height. gun tho

I heard a roumer that Tom Scully Will not go into the draft this year if freo get thje first pick as he wants to stay in melbourne can anyone confirm this roumer. He has a point who would want to waste their time playing for freo
