I'm proud of the Hawks today ...

Yeah u got done pal :thumbsu:...suck it up and look forward to next week.

Stop looking for the old umpire excuse when it just isnt an issue in this game.

You can expect things a lot tougher and tighter than that if u happen to make September action.

I would have taken the win, but felt like the Hawks were a bit ahead of themselves given they don't genuinely have a game B yet. So I meant what I said, when I explained that I thought the result was a good one for the Hawthorn FC.

Mind you, you guys don't have a plan B either, you are just more experienced and therefore have more ability to dictate the style the game will be played.

When it was on our terms we dominated. When the Swans changed the style it was fairly even, if not for the pathetic umpiring.

No it wasn't. Your mob was up by three goals, and we got to a 23 point break, that's almost a 7 goal turn around, on our terms.

So when someone grabs McGlynns jumper and the umpire gives him a 50 and then a goal for it, you will say it is a rule.

I think collectively we need to do more about this. The AFL rely on the fact that there are 8 winners each week to belt down the 8 teams who lost.

The reality is, is that if we were all neutral then the umpires would need to be more accountabile for their nonsense and egos.

Haha as I said it wasn't the Swans fault that the Dorks played negative, sheer brilliance from Paul Roos to control the game on the Swans terms:D

All, and I mean ALL of the 50 meter penalties were there, let me just say one thing to you H2F, you cannot, cannot, grab a player when they have taken the mark. Sour grapes, hope they taste REAL nice :D :D

Hawthorn flooded unconditionally - it was a blatant and disgraceful full flood :thumbsu:

And mods remove this sh1te thread from the main board to the Floodthorn board where it should have been posted in the first place :thumbsu:

So what you're saying is that you want me to type out a dumb downed version of this ...so you can understand me. I know a lot of you are intellectually challenged but for those of you with a problem THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IS WRITTEN BELOW ...

I've been saying it all year and you can read up if you give a stuff in my thread "It's not Hawthorn that Flood" but again we lost when the opposition team pulls that one on us.

For all the BigFooty experts like HotFlog, calling the Hawks game-style pathetic, listen up.

The Hawks play a running and attacking game. It is devistating.

The answer = TEAMS FLOOD US.

Other than the St Kilda game, and they were severely undermanned we have not found a way to beat it.

We lost to Carlton in the NAB cup who flooded.

We lost to the Lions in Round 1 who flooded.

We lost to Freo who flooded.

The teams who we belted the Eagles, Bombers, Port all left it open. Ya get it now.

But the Hawks need a game B. We are young, got hammered by the umpiring, and also looked flat today.

What mattered to me when was that we fought it out. And we did.

So the Hawks will be better for this. With even neutral umpiring we would have won, but this is the better result for us in the future. We want to earn our way to the top, and I for one are proud of them...

The thing people also need to consider is that NO ONE can beat the Sydney flood when they are on. The Eagles beat them by a point in a Grand Final with one of the most talented teams of all times, and an effort that made all teams admire them.

The Swans are a blight on the game, but one day teams will find a way to counter it. And when they do talented teams like the Hawks will pump them.

Come on master Clarko, sort it out. No doubt the Blues will bring the flood next week.

:D:D:D:D:D

What about the three 50 metre penalties that resulted in shots on goal

I though umpiring was inconsistent and too influential!! Sheesh Kirk doesn't get a 10th of the time to dispose as does Juddy!!! I think obvious manslaughter should be required before 50 metre penalty is awarded.

I can say that cause it aint sour grapes.... but your rant on flooding is rediculous as Hawks flooded just as much if not more than Swans , watch the game again closely..... Swans had numbers at the contest & stoppages.... Hawks always had extra numbers behind the ball.

Bad luck and try be a good & proud loser;)

Ha ha, if Hawthorn dominate when the game is open, wouldn't you have a sneaking suspicion it is other teams flooding, NOT US.

The umpires gave it to you on a platter, but like I said we were better off in the long term for the loss.

As for the proud loser thing, I am a Hawk supporter. If you want to see proud losers, wander over to the Richmond board a bit more often.

No, Hawthorn flood. Other teams pla tempo footy to counter your flood. Accept it loser. Hope it hurts:D

Either plain clueless or just trolling tongue in cheek.

Or are you still trying to justify the pathetic effort that St Kilda put up by trying to heap scorn on the Hawks?

Give it up and worry a bit more about your rabble.

Perhaps you should say something like this:

"If Hawks don't flood, we may have a chance of winning these games"

The Hawks were totally outclassed today champ, you can blame it on the umpirs, but the Swans are just too good, and the way your team showed its undisiplinedness should be the focal point of your conversation, not the umpires:D:D

Did I mention to you that I hope it HURTS!!!!!

Hawthorn were owned by the umpires. Usually I say that you're gonna get poor decisions - expect them, and if you don't win, you weren't good enough. Hawthorn lost because they stagnated in the second half - even when their arses were on the line in the final term they didn't want to attack (or couldn't), until the final minutes when they tried to attack and pulled back a couple of goals.

I think Sydney wanted it more - they would have been 5-6 and under the pump if they lost, while the Hawks would have still been in the top 6 regardless of the result.

Rubbish. Did you actually watch the game?

Did you listen to the commentary? When the Hawks got off to a good start what did the Swans do?

Not really worth the effort..

You mean where a Hawks player tripped over the Swans player with a free kick, ran across the mark and came in late to a contest and prevented the ball being moved on?

What's your point?

That is happens all day every week, and Sydney got an armchair ride today and the Hawks sweet FA ... But it is the people in this thread who think I am saying it like some sort of excuse.

My point is that Hawthorn are young, and don't yet have an effective counter strategy to the flood.

But for all the accusations of sour grapes I am not going to deviate from the facts, and the facts are Sydney got the golden whistle today and you know it.

Cut and paste this for next time Hawthorn lose and you will appear over puberty and with some class..

The better team won today - Good going team X - Hawks will have to suck it up and play harder next week. The umpiring was terrible (it always is) but both teams suffered.
Who cares about the umpiring? Listen mate don't use it as an excuse for our loss to Sydney.
Hawthorn couldn't match the swans and beat them.

Erm, all the 50s were plain to see. You can't infringe on a player after a free or mark. It wasn't the umpire that gave the Swans those goals, it was the hawks through undisciplined play.

That's crap.

You flood but play a different version it.

In the first quarter against us you guys had a serious flood on. As the game wore on the flood started to break apart because you were running better than us.

Grant Thomas was spot on when he said you needed to change your game plan but couldn't.

Too many players a drilled into that flooding style and you were playing into Sydney's hands.

It will be difficult to change the game plan and win because you lack the KPP defenders.

But if half of them weren't paid you wouldn't have noticed, just like the 10 or 20 free kicks not given to Mitchell and Hodge for brilliant tackles, whilst everytime a Swans player tackled it was called holding the ball.

Some days you get the gift of the scab, today it was you. I said we are better off for the loss, why can't you admit the worms gave you the run today.

Mate, the Hawks flooded against Essendon in our earlier encounter. Were you watching the same game or are you just making this stuff up?

umpiring overall today was awful
almost getting to the stage, where if a pack develops, you can toss a coin to decide weather it will be a ball up or holding the ball...its just a joke

The answer = TEAMS FLOOD US.

Because you FLOOD them!!!!

We lost to Carlton in the NAB cup who flooded.

Because you flooded!

We lost to the Lions in Round 1 who flooded.

Because you flooded!!

We lost to Freo who flooded.

Because you flooded!!!

The teams who we belted the Eagles, Bombers, Port all left it open.

Because you flooded!!!! Ya get it now!!!!

But the Hawks need a game B

Finally we agree on something :thumbsu:

No doubt the Blues will bring the flood next week.

As Floodthorn would have implemented it 5 minutes earlier

:(:(:(

Did you listen to the commentary? When the Hawks got off to a good start what did the Swans do?

No moron, go back and read what I said. You both are clearly saying that the Hawks don't flood. Yes I did listen to the commentary and watched the game, and I totally agreed with what Dwayne Russell had to say!!!!Hawks were undisipilend and flooded after quarter time!!! You can blame the umpires, but it was undisiplined ad negative tactics that cost you the game!!!!

The Swans, for what I could see, didn't today. What do you think flooding is? It's not kick to kick. It's when YOUR ENTIRE TEAM is within the other teams half of the ground!!!!

Face the facts, Hawks flood and they do it poorly.
