You know what you’re gonna get with Dhawan but Rahul has looked like a walking wicket in this test. Pretty annoying when you feel like you can’t rely on 2/3 of your top order.

Looks like it might be another classic finish in Edgbaston though.

The Indian top order should remedy itself from the next text.

The biggest question is whether the selectors look to Pujara to slot in at 3. He does structure the order nicely. I think the order selected is probably the right one, but the batsmen have to justify that with their performances. I would stick with it for another test.

This test is absolutely gripping and a great advertisement for the game!

Agree , How good is this test match. Need to get the duke balls in worldwide and produce wickets that give the bowlers a chance. Australia is just about the worst country for this.

Tv broadcasters and administrators want 5 day test matches , but a match like this that’s over in 3 or 3 and a bit days is so much more entertaining to watch than 7/550 dec every test. We have 50 over and 20/20 cricket for that

I would drop Dhawan and open with Rahul with Pujara at 3. Even if Pujara doesn't score, he will shield the other batsmen and play out 50-60 balls. Dhawan is just a big NO for test matches. Rahul didn't play even 1 ball comfortably in this match, hopefully he will play well in the next match.

Rahane got his chances. He is woefully out of form and this series will decide whether he will be in the team or no. Maybe try Karun Nair for 3rd match if Rahane fails in next match too.

Rahul has looked horrible though.
