Lol -at least the truth is out there.

I think this is Simmo backing in the old guard to see if they can get it done. If not, it gives the club licence to look at changing things. It could spur Shuey to retire or him or Yeo to move to HBF.

I wouldn't be surprised if the club goes hard until the bye, but if things are still grim, guys like JK and Hurn retire and they start developing youth.
Yeo at the time being is a good rotation at half back as he lacks the match fitness. That said he's 28 and by far our best inside mid in a team thats an average contested Possie team. Rather see TK/SHuey spend a lot more chunks out of the midfield and allow XON, Clark, Edwards get more time on ball.

Tell you what, I have been listening to Bucks a bit lately on footy talk shows, and he is good to listen to. He used to be all figjam and arrogance a few years back, but he is now a thoughtful, reasoned man, quite impressive in the media.
I liked his special comments on our game last week. Really called out the terrible ball movement.

Someone's had a big day

The club spelt Clark's name wrong twice in the same post.

Cringe Hangover GIF

Only Saw this today, but I had to post about this in disgust. A pointless article that needn’t be written that tries to sugar coat the trade by adding faces to the subsequent trades we made after receiving Geelongs 3rd/4th rounder.

The article is beyond embarrassing and something a betacuck club would post

Lel. The club is in full crisis mode.

You can’t really use Jamieson’s senior debut (not his fault, but one of the worst in recent memory) and Winder’s development (seems to be behind top up players) as strong points in your favour.

Maybe improve your ‘optics’ through strong on field efforts rather than deflective articles.

It was a triple **** up. We could have just drafted him but no, we instead paid miles over at the worst possible time when we should have been consolidating our list with young draftees. Total list killer.

Regarding the Stocks article ... pure unadulterated spin. There are just so many ways to pick this article apart. So many in fact that it is not even worth starting. Plus its tone is both arrogant and aggressive.

But let's allow Mr G Stocks to speak for himself ...

... the Cats received two first round and two second round draft picks in the 2019 and 2020 drafts. For those selections the Eagles received Kelly.
In addition to Kelly, the Eagles also received two third round draft selections in return from Geelong ...

So the whole story in 16 words is: Geelong got two 1st and two 2nd picks, we got Kelly and two 3rd round picks.

End of story.

Whatever happened with those picks - their on-trading, to whom, and when, and who we eventually ended up with ... is all just smoke. In fact by putting this rather unprofessional effort on the WCE website the Kelly trade will now be scrutinised by even more people. You've made it an 'official' issue. (And I'd say raising it - in such a clearly shallow piece - might be upsetting for TK.) All up, I'd say an own goal Gary.

However, I hope WCE management is not on board with this article because his attitude worries me. Is this a part of a larger retreat to the bunker? Are we seeing an inability to accept that maybe, just maybe, some club decisions are worthy of scrutiny and god forbid, some might be wrong. (And then not having the bottle to fess up.)

In this case it is about trades, but my bigger worry is ... are we starting to see a pattern? For example, it could also be the refusal to accept that the GF/PF is out of reach, that wins are worth chasing by playing ageing champs, that teams are being selected on reputation not form. Or, like the spin of the Stocks' article, am I being asked to believe the spin? It is just a lack of ... synergy.
