I watched Tom Barrass' interview just now; for me, he is our next captain. He is so articulate, no ummms and errs, just well put together answers to any questions thrown at him. Obviously he is very intelligent and thoughtful, humble too; all worthy traits for captaincy.

This weeks preview by Titus.

West Coast vs. Sydney (OS) 7:40pm Fox Footy

After delighting everyone with a win over the Pies last week, the Eagles return home from overseas to face Sydney.

The Eagles, in another sign of their stability, are looking to make up to six changes to their team. This time though, I vaguely recognise some of the names of the players coming in.

Luke Shuey, Elliot Yeo, Tim Kelly, Jamie Cripps and Sam Petrevski-Seton are all likely, meaning like Covid, as winter approaches, West Coast will only get stronger.

But while this is all good news, Nic Naitanui has now been ruled out until halfway through the season with a medial ligament injury.

That’s less than ideal and shows the impact Mars being in Pisces can have on a club.

Sydney will be without Buddy Franklin, who had surgery on his finger this week. This is no big surprise as he is approaching the age where Geelong will start considering recruiting him.

I feel we don’t need to mention when Buddy isn’t playing anymore, just tell us when he is, it will be quicker.

I’m tipping the Eagles.

Still not over it…

Lol. It was Maynard that blocked Rioli and caught him high as well.

Collingwood fans need to ask the bigger question, which is who let Sheed run unchecked into F50?

Previously thought it was Pendles, but Sheed on the Backchat podcast said he was playing on Treloar.

So lucky for Sheed, as it was Treloar who was out on his own and kicked the ball in that McGovern marked.

Scotty Cummings the one who on sen who put the hard question to Gaff with regards to blokes playing who know whatever effort or output they put out wont be dropped.... Not wanting to use credits in the bank Gaffy decided "runs on the board " was his way of explaining around it.

Gaffy also busts out the "on paper" argument.

Ooof

Onya Scotty
Lol -at least the truth is out there.

I think this is Simmo backing in the old guard to see if they can get it done. If not, it gives the club licence to look at changing things. It could spur Shuey to retire or him or Yeo to move to HBF.

I wouldn't be surprised if the club goes hard until the bye, but if things are still grim, guys like JK and Hurn retire and they start developing youth.

There is an unreasonable amount of logic here

Look, there’s nothing wrong with runs on the board for a player here and there that’s been playing up to their reputation recently, however ours have not for the past three seasons. If the Australian cricket team used our selection method, we’d still have Border, Lillee and Thommo out there running around..

So far, credits in the bank hasn't extended to players who have retired.
