Gold Coast were criticized for allowing it to happen, from memory. Should have taken whatever pitiful deal Carlton offered.
Carlton and Adelaide have used it 2 of the last 3 years
It's a legitimate way to acquire talent and there's absolutely nothing wrong with using it
We should absolutely be exploring it as an option
It seems to be more acceptable now. And if the AFL don't like it they can change the rules. Might be some restraint of trade issues there but that's not my area.
At a minimum we should be using it as a hedge if we pursued Jackson so we don't get shafted.
Melbourne know we cant prop up the picks so it wont be like we are being stingy.

If Jackson made it clear that he wants/needs to return home, I can't see a world in which North would pick him.
With so many trying to save their career, including Rawlings, North are unpredictable and wouldn't bet on them doing anything
Well, that’s Melbourne/Vic commentary bias at its best. No criticism of the Melbourne club’s low ball offer just criticism of the non Victorian club’s refusal to bend over and be shafted. Ha ha.
There would be outrage and change initiated if it happened to a Victorian club. That is the landscape we are dealing with.

North have enough issues without picking up a high priced player who doesn't want to be there
I find it hard to believe even the low priced players want to be there either.
They absolutely would pick him.
He's exactly what they need - a good player in a position of need (FWD/Ruck) and someone worthy of paying their significant salary cap space to.
Maybe we can offer up a sacrificial lamb - an uncontracted non-free-agent who they want to take with pick #1 in the PSD.... problem is we don't have anyone of any real value for Nth!

Tribunal system is a shemozzle - MRO has scales and ratings and should have been able to determine number of weeks.
AFL and Club can then appeal if either don’t like decision. Just dragged out something unnecessarily which could have been dealt with quickly.
