Breaking bad is my favourite show of all time but yeah even I just skip most the parts with the wife. I just hate her so much.

By the way if you are only on the second season then get ready cuz she becomes progressively more of an annoying biatch the longer the show goes

But they are totally different shows so neither can be a poor mans version.
They are both great shows but The Wire is better, season 1 starts a little slow but then it gets real good.

No I don't agree with that. Season 3 and 4 of BB are better. BB's average is slightly decreased by a fairly weak season 1. But that is exactly my point, you can't go judging shows on only one season. Otherwise BB would be outside the top thousand!

So as I said, come back to me in 3 seasons. Hopefully GoT will have maintained that good start.

I don't think it would do many shows justice by labelling one show the 'greatest of all time'. I prefer to choose the best shows of each genre. Seinfeld and Curb would be my favourite comedy shows (once you've had a dose of Larry David-style comedy, nothing else can compare) and Breaking Bad would be my favourite drama. The Wire would have to come pretty damn close in that regard too.

I'm also kinda glad that season 5 of Breaking Bad is the final season. At least that way the show ends on a high. There are still a few unresolved things which I'm sure will be solved with a bang in the final season (e.g. Mike and the fallout of Gus' situation). If the producers keep this up then I have no doubt it has the potential to unequivocally become the greatest in its genre.

definitely agree with this; it would be a shame to see the high-tension drama diluted by dragging out the story more than neccessary.

I think the Hank/Walt & Jesse/Walt relationships will be the key to season 5, although it is interesting to speculate as to what kind of role Mike will play in the final season.
