Also, on the same tack, why on earth would Cumming be waiting to see what Perryman does? If Perryman goes to Hawthorn, would Cumming go there? I reckon all these facets are completely overblown.

The way I understand it is Perryman is seen as the preferred player by most clubs. He needs to pick first, then those that miss out might up their offer for Cumming. They are not going to the same club.

Wow people have an obsession with FA players nominating before FA period starts

Look at Betts, the entire industry knew Betts was Adelaide bound but he did not nominate his desires to join Adelaide until FA started.

The Cumming situation is purely based on returning home, he’s now a father and his partner wants to return to Adelaide to be closer to family.

He is not waiting for the Perryman decision to drop, whoever his destination club is which I believe is Adelaide have put 8-10 months of work into getting this over the line.

Why has not announced ? Because there is no need for him to do so…..

When will he announce? When FA period starts, or after GWS BnF night, what ever comes quicker.

I think his biggest dilemma is that he actually does love GWS, but the money and personal reasons to return home is too good to pass up……. I’m not surprised that he is either waiting for FA or after GWS BnF to declare the move.

Yeah I think Cumming and ANB are locks for us right now. Too much noise on Cumming to us to suggest otherwise.

Lukosius I don't know.
If we are offering more and can actually facilitate a trade you'd think us, but who knows.
Someone made a good point of course you'd rather a mid than Lukosius, but none are willing to come do you get no one?
At least there's a chance Jack comes good and our mid to forward link up becomes 2017 standard.

If he kicks his 40 like he did last year it makes us much better

Cumming is our preferred.

Perryman is Port's preferred.

I think the logic is Lukosius isn't, but rather you absorb it for a short period until he becomes a 600k-700k per year player.
Curtin doesn't need a big pay rise in that time.
Yep, can't disagree with any of that.

For me it's more of whether we need Lukosius when we have Curtin.

Yeah I feel we may already have our own Luko, but with potentially even more versatility

Makes Luko less of a need
Certainly given our needs, Lukosius is not worth a 1st rounder.

More of a need for Port imo.

Curtin plays wing/middle with stints forward and back for me.

It looks like we have struck out in search for a midfielder, and at least this way we get Lukosius in the meantime whilst we try again next year.
There really aren't that many list holes going forward.

Wing - Cumming
Pressure forward - ANB
Third tall forward to replace Tex - Lukosius
Midfielder - Lalor/Draper
Small defender - ??
Ruck - ??
Small forward - ??
A grade midfielder - ??

Time will tell if the last 4 spots stop us from getting to the top.
Ruck you would think would be easy enough to fix with Obriens contract coming up shortly.
Small defender unclear what direction we go there - Bond has shown promise there. Outside that not no obvious long term candidate. Ryan?
Small forward - possible this isn't a need if the likes of ANB, Rachele, Pedlar can do the job alongside the bigs.
A grade midfielder - obvious gap. Rankine, Dawson, Soligo, Pick 4, Curtin might be good in time but in the next 2-3 years looks not amazing.

Long story short - we can't fix it all this offseason.

Yeah, maybe he'd make more sense if Tex retired. For 2025 now, Luko would be a luxury

Probably would prefer to look at developing Welsh/Turray as well as possible for 2026, or if they aren't ready/good enough, look to bring in a Tex replacement next off-season
