I will say, Craigy was forever saying the Crows would be innovators .....yet PORT are doing trips to America for specialised training .....Burgess was taking PORT players overseas for heat training .....since he's been at the Crows, it's been vanilla stuff

Where is this innovation that we were supposedly going to be leading the AFL on ?
I've never understood heat training overseas.... it's hot enough here in summer.

With Houston going, I’d say we’re in trouble.
Port would've known Houston is gone for some time. I think it's Perryman's reluctance to nominate Port yet which is more likely to impact Port's offer to Cumming.

And hence risks impacting our ability to land Cumming.

I would like to see more professional stuff like that too... breeds a higher-performance culture.

Wonder if it's the club not signing off on the $$$ required to fund such a trip? Putting it aside for the Thebarton HQ?

I just think the Club is dealing in basics currently ....and not looking to be creative

Then again, I don't see an ounce of creativity in Kelly .....he's more the public servant, with strict routines

I reckon after the camp debacle, we decided to just focus on the simple stuff for a while.

Do you see creativity in Nicks?
He seems to be straight up and down vanilla.

Agree .....we've become a bit gun shy

It needs brave leaders to continue to innovate after being slapped down

I don't disagree with that POV .....I also don't see Horse or Fagan as more than vanilla Coaches either

Playing four tall forwards in a wet night game is pretty outside of the box thinking

Vanilla is fine as long as the plans are good
I look at the type of players being drafted / traded .....then the gameplan

In our case, getting competitive players, and playing a combative gamestyle 1st and flair overlapping, I like

If you look at that BRIS / GEEL game ....that's the exact game type, we've recruited for and play .....plenty of chaos balls, ground balls, and mistakes .....those prissy players can't get a kick, Hipwood a great example ....Lukosius would flounder

This is the worst part of the off-season, for me as a fan - the waiting on your targets to make a decision

At least if we've failed, you know we've failed. Clarity and all that

Incorrect. The case I am prosecuting is that if Dawson and Rankine knew what Nicks was like, they wouldn't have bothered.
AND .....there's no rush with players trying to get out of the Crows .....that's always been a fear amongst supporters

It does say something about the Coach and Management

Yeah but you at least got to have something, they have performance.
They do have much better performing best 22's than us

But it's a combination of everything. There's a reason both Fagan and Horse are coaching in the Grand Final, they've gotten the most out of their players and gotten them to stand up when it counts
