Lebanon’s health minister Firas Abiad has said that 274 people have been killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon, including 21 children and 31 women. More than 1,000 people have been injured, the health minister added. This is a simplistic way of looking at things.

The Russian/Ukraine war is clearly about Russian imperial interests. They even say so themselves. Pretending otherwise is ignorant at best.

Israel is only re-organising the Middle East against US and Israeli interests. At best Israel's goal is to ethnically cleanse a group of people in a small area called Palestine. Even if they achieve that, they'll still just be in the same geopolitical situation, surrounded by countries and people who hate what they did to Palestinians.

Israel is making it harder for the US, and easier for Iran, to make Imperial inroads into the Middle East. Note how the Saudis have gone very very quiet in Yemen. MBS and the King of Jordan are in fear of their lives from being over-run by the populations who oppose peace with Israel. Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt are all turning away from US/Israeli interests. Jordan and Saudi are not joining Iran, but they've gone cold on normalisation with Israel.

This Israeli ethnic cleansing will be known as the second Nakba. No matter how many they kill, they will not know peace after this for at least another generation or two or three.

The Israeli genocide in Gaza, and the open support of it by all imperialist governments - including the Albanese government - cannot be explained outside of understanding its connection with the war that the US is also funding in Ukraine, and the ongoing militarisation of northern Australia and the participation of Australian military forces in military excursions in collaboration with US forces aimed at provoking responses from China.
