Yes. Yes they are. Why do people think this is even contested? The war crimes committed in the Iraq invasion by the US, UK and Australia are well documented. They were shooting civilians like it's a video game by their own admission and brutalised them. Over 1 million Iraqis died as a result. Even if Iraq had so-called WMDs, it doesn't justify killing 1 million people. We know it was a lie and Iraq didn't have WMD.

The Saudi officials that killed 10s of thousands if not 100s of thousands of Yemenis in the last 10 years using the exact same "we need to eliminate terrorist Iranian proxies" excuse are also awful people.

I'm more addressing whether war crimes actually happened and how it happened rather than the number of deaths as awful as the death toll is. Many sources will at least say 100-200 thousand people were killed. A destabilised region however has much less ability to track casualties through sophisticated technology/record-keeping which is where the higher estimation comes from. We will never know the true number as there are many Iraqis that were never accounted for.

Still, I'm focusing more on the idea behind it and why the west is more ashamed of that history after the rampant Islamophobia and anti-Arab sentiments cooled down over the years. Zionists use that as a justification for today's situation in Palestine and it's not the flex they think it is.

Many young western men were indoctrinated into invading Iraq by instilled patriotism and demonisation of Muslims/Arabs post 9/11 which resulted in war crimes being committed all over the place. Many of them either died or live with permanent physical or psychosocial disabilities for the rest of their lives because of a lie they were sold. So bringing it up is counterproductive.

It was less controlled than you'd expect from a sophisticated military.
