Not only did he refuse to listen, he and the entire US political establishment sent out police to shoot rubber bullets at pro-Palestine student protesters, and smeared the protests as "anti-Semitic"

The issue is not lack of moral outrage in the vast majority of the population, or lack of will to stop the genocide. The anti-genocide protests have been the largest protests for decades, and also the most continuous for decades.

The issue is a question of political perspective. Protesting, appealing to ruling elites, demanding that war criminals such as Netanyahu, Biden, Starmer, Macron, Albanese, change their minds and "show compassion" is totally bankrupt.

They support genocide not primarily because they are sociopathic maniacs, but fundamentally because the geopolitical interests of the social class they represent (in Albanese's case, the Australian capitalist class, which has totally aligned its destiny with that of US imperialism) requires them to do so.

Political leaders are selected on the basis of their willingness to cross any line to defend the profit interests of their nation's capitalist elite.

Albanese has crossed the genocide line, and he won't go back just because tens and hundreds of thousands march in the streets of Melbourne and Sydney (and in other cities).

But it is not shame on "us"! Rather, we - the vast majority - need to turn to a new political perspective because the old one is utterly futile.

Why is the right to self defence reserved for Israel alone?

Why would they ignore Israel killing their generals in their own consulate in Damascus?

Every country in the ME other than Israel believe it will only end when Israel no longer exists. Some are open about it, while others keep quiet, but all believe it.

That said, if Israel was gone, who would be the next target for the despots leading all those countries? They will hate on the US of course, but 3rd world countries arent too much of a threat to America.

Then they launched missiles again because Israel killed commanders of a few groups who they were in open conflict with.
You can't fund Hamas or Hezbollah ,to fight against Israel, then get upset when Israel retaliate.

Apparently the USA were instrumental in getting Israel to limit their retaliation ( which mostly targeted the manufacturing of missiles that had their name on them ), not being able to get them to "not retaliate ). I can imagine the Israeli's going full psychopath if left unchecked.

Targeting missile production is one of the few actions where i'd consider that the correct use of the word "defence" has been used in the region.

What they did was destroy entire towns/civilian infrastructure to kill some of those commanders and in other cases in Lebanon just entire apartment blocks. Then Iran responded by attacking their military facilities, the ones they use to wipe out civilians while claiming they are targeting enemy military leaders.

How many times has Iran fired missiles at Israel? Once this year.
