The best signal to me, would be if Iran do strike back. If their air defences were really taken out, they'd be stupid to fire back and wouldn't.

If they feel safe, they might launch.

I think they'll go for something a bit more close-up from a range of directions. I think they've been putting stuff in place across multiple countries. Israel think they've been effectively whack-a-moling it, but I'm not sure. They've had intel failures in the past....

Iran does not need to be close up to hit Israeli targets as they proved on 1st october you know the one I mean where you actually saw the damage caused.As I said Israel planned for almost 4 weeks to hit back and waited for 3 Thadd batteries to be in place in Israel and they are proving to be every bit as unsuccessful as the Iron dome as shown by Hezbollahs latest rock attacks you know the one,s where you actually see what has been damaged.

No intel failures on Israel,s behalf they are just telling you more lies they have no proof as to their success or not unlike the damage we have seen from Iran and Hezbollah.

yeh i know how the UN operates or fails to operate. I know that it's these people's jobs to go to the UN building in new york and talk about genocide... and if gov'ts order them to stop then they'll just stay in their offices writing more reports unless gov'ts order them to stop doing that...

so it's a bureaucratic thing. I dont see the point of the UN in its current structure. You could argue that it provides some method to communicate the issues to the world but the average joe and jill dont bother with it. It's irrelevant even before it starts...

People complain about Carter because he based foreign policy more on humanitarian grounds..... He:
Installed solar water heaters on the whitehouse. He pushed policies that generally conserved energy use. ( but there was an energy crisis ).
Reacted strongly and positively to housing built on toxic waste dumps.
Brokered peace between Egypt and Israel. ( maybe not a good thing ,but whatever ).
Gave the Panama Canal to Panama.
De-escalated the nuclear arms race between USSR and USA.
Reduced the restrictions against Cuba.

For a 70s Pres, he was very 2020's.

In all he was a guy who was pretty honest and at least tried to do the right thing.
Most aren't and don't.

i dont like comparing israel with nazis because the discussion then tends to focus on the nazis.

I also think that there are a lot of things about israel which dont fit the fascist mold. It is democratic for the jews, it doesnt have an authoritarian gov't for jews. It is more of an apartheid regime, a religious zealotry akin to islamic states - defining all jews as being israeli. The gov't is currently pursuing the mission of a chosen people seeking a greater israel based on 2000 year old borders and the other factor is that they portray themselves as victims that need to protect themselves by using any means. I dont see a lot of that as being fascist.
