Re: Tigers to trade pick 14 for GWS pick 15 + Morris

Apreantly he is very good in front of goal and Marks .. so thats a pluss from what we have
Graham is one of the better set shots for goal at the club.Haven't seen Browne miss any in front of the sticks either.

Re: What is Maric Worth

If we can get him via the pre-season draft just like we did with Houli then that's the road I'll take, that way we can use our draft picks for youngsters or other better players in the trade period.

Otherwise a 3rd round pick will be my last resort.

This bloke ain't going to solve our ruck issues however he might strengthen it.

I'm not desperate for Maric.

Re: What is Maric Worth

We might as well take a established Ruckman then wait for a ruckman to develop in like 2-3 years and Thursfield he played alright but we already have enough Backman like Rance and Moore (Main KDB) and than back ups like Astbury, Post, Gourdis and McGuane ;)

Moore won't be our main KPD next year nor will he likely be playing. I suspect that we will be trading McGuane next week so this is how it will look like.

Full Back: Alex Rance
Main Depth: David Gourdis

Center-Half Back: David Astbury
Main Depth: Jayden Post

3rd Tall: Dylan Grimes
Main Depth: Will Thursfield

Re: What is Maric Worth

Don't want to start mschief, but I think it'll be your second, and this time next year, you guys will be more than happy with the trade.

He isn't a star ruck man, but there are only half a dozen of them in the League.

You'll love him, and if he's at the Tiges, I can still cheer him on ;)

EDIT: I'm an idiot and should read things properly.:D

You bet. I agree that is a sensible price and he'll be a fantastic pickup

Hopefully we trade back into R2 elsewhere.

Welcome Eeeeevaaarrnnnn!

Re: Tigers to trade pick 14 for GWS pick 15 + Morris

i can see your guys point about Adelaide asking for a 2nd round draft pick for Maric but clubs will do what is in there best interest.

This trade could end up becoming a three way deal including Hawthorn who are trying to get homesick Gunston.

dont think so cause we are not giving our first pick or compo unless hawthorn throw in somthing as a sweetener

Re: What is Maric Worth

Look, in this shallow draft he probably is worth a 2nd rounder. however, this means that when the tigers get him for their 3rd rounder... we have done a good deal

I think a 4th round pick is pretty far off the mark... that would be considered a steal

Yeah i agree with you mate. It is said to be a shallow draft.
No way will they get our first rounder or compo like they would like.
Maybe our second rounder is a tad high so they might swap third rounders? FOr a pick upgrade

Re: What is Maric Worth

Maric is going to cost us a second round pick or a player that is worth a second round pick. People hoping to secure him for a 3rd round pick or later are kidding themselves, remember we're not playing some PS3 game where you can rip the computer off and trade late round picks for decent players.

Maric might not be a star but he is a player that was the Crows leading ruckman when they last played finals in 2009, so the guy obviously has some talent. Personally I'm quite happy to part with pick 37 for Maric this year, given that he will give us a first choice ruckman that will give guys like Cotchin Martin Foley & hopefully Deledio first crack at winning the footy by putting the ball at least somewhere near them. Unlike Graham who seemingly hits the ball where he wants and hopes that our players are there to win the ball.

will be shattered if we give up our second pick for an average at best ruckman. As a smarty poster mentioned earlier, Jacobs was more highly rated and he went for 33 and steak knives. Why is maric worth 37 when he was completely usurped by Jacobs?

Take our 3rd rounder and Connors or tell your story walking

Shattered? Really?

Did you require hospitalisation when we acquired Hislop or that Port bloke whose name I have completely forgotten

The Blues wanted the Crows first pick for Jacobs. In the end they gave up their second pick and the steak knives.

Right now the Crows want our first pick or the compo pick for Maric, we will offer up our 3rd round pick in return and then both clubs will agree on the second round pick. Its why we didn't nominate Morris as a F/S pick as we knew it was going to cost us our second pick and we will need that for Maric.

Ideally I'd prefer to see the Crows say they would take Morton or Connors in a straight swap or we trade one of them for another second round pick and send one of the picks to the Crows.

That may be true RT, but that doesn't mean some of us like the idea of trading a 2nd roundpick for a ruckman, who hasn't shown he is worthy of that pick (in my opinion of course).

I believe he has and is worth that pick. I don't expect him to be up there competing for AA selection but I do believe he will give us what we have been missing and that is a decent contest in the middle and around the ground. Like I said the Crows want 15 or the compo, we will offer 55 and in the end we'll end up settling for 37 or a player swap. Ideally Morton and/or Connors will get us another second round pick/s so that we effectively trade them for Maric.

Are you sure? the tambling trade was very PS3ish....

Surely we would only offer 2nd round pick if we believe someone will take him ahead of us in the PSD otherwise we will sit tight like we did with Houli.

Re: What is Maric Worth

Yea, you guys still owe us for that ;)

Just on the Jacobs thing, the Crows apparently offered them the Bock pick, they demanded our first or Talia, by the time they got serious, you guys had already done that deal.

Well if you can get us back the pick we traded for McMahon then I would be more than happy to give you the compo pick back but you would have to keep Tambling still. ;)
