Nah, I don't have any issue with it.Vactican City is a country, if that's their custom and expectation, then so be it. It is a Monarchy with the Pope as their head.
100% no problems donning a headscarf in any country where it is their custom, whether that be the Middle East, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vatican City, where ever.
It's not custom in NZ and as the leader of that country, I just don't think she should have done it. If they had a male Prime Minister, what would have been the expectation on him? Take his shoes off which is what you do when you walk into a lot of peoples' homes anyway.
'You wear a hijab, I don't wear one, but we are still one and I'll stand with you. We are different but we are the same'
If you read my post, it wasn't the country they wear a scarf for it is the Pope, which is actually worse in my mind than for a country or religion.
I recall years ago that I would wear a scarf in a Catholic and Orthodox Church (not a church goer, funerals, christening, weddings) and then it was changed, but some still wear it now.
Think you are trying to make an issue over nothing, showing a bit of unity/respect for an occasion doesn't hurt anybody.
