Traded Jack Bowes [Traded to Geelong with #7 for F3]

Should be made to cop the salary in the two years that Bowes is contracted rather than spreading it over a longer contract. Unsure as to why that's been okayed. Would have thought that was the whole point of the salary dump but ah wells.
The whole idea of salary dumps is stupid when the club can't trade the player without consent.

Example, Hawks agree to pay 2 x 2nd rounders for Bowes and pick 7. However, Geelong only offer a future 3rd for Bowes and pick 7. If Bowes only wants Geelong then the suns get a really raw deal (deserved for ****ing the cap up this bad, but the best deal available should be the one they take, not the best option for Bowes.)

Mitch Cleary running with Geelong. Normally he's got good info when it comes to us.

“You don’t come to the Geelong footy club to go to work for money. You come for the experience"

Hopefully we nail our top 10 pick better than the last one... Nokia phones.

Wish you were this passionate about Brodie Grundy knocking back interstate sides who would’ve offered Collingwood more than what Melbourne will.

To be fair, when he was in charge there was a rule against this trade. It's only now he left this is allowed

If the cats get pick 7, can't imagine that goes in a trade for either Henry or Bruhn.

I would be stunned if we traded pick 7 - if we get it. The last two pick 7's we had played a combined 635 AFL games.

However, one part of this is convincing the player. The second part is getting it done and we haven't got anything done yet.

Yeah, if Geelong can do it, why can't GC?

What 3rd party payments can you tell us about. Please provide evidence

I don't think it's a secret that Geelong players get favourable land deals/renos/$1 pubs and the likes.

Every club does it to an extent (Carlton with VISY, Eddie era Pies getting players on the footy show etc). No one does it better than the Cats at the moment.

Rules for me and rules for thee. NFI, it is bizarre though why they can't just restructure the contract with Bowes if Geelong is doing the exact same thing.

There's no way Geelong can cop his salary over a two year period. Not sure why they can restructure it to 4 and Gold Coast can't.

Geelong officially has a higher point value draft hand than North Melbourne who finished bottom.

o_O

We don't know what GC want back yet. I think our future first will go to GWS as part of Bruhn deal. That then limits what other future picks we can trade back to GC.

So I could see something like Bowes + Pick 7 + Pick 25 for Pick 18 and Pick 38

That saves a bit of face for everyone. There will be pick swaps because the optics of Bowes + Pick 7 is really bad for the AFL so it will need to be a confusopoly situation for them to sign off on it.

You "don't think it's a secret" that Geelong is openly cheating? Pretty sure it's just something people are making up as a coping mechanism
