I feel very sorry for Jack and others who have lost jobs because of these mandates. Quite a few people lost their jobs at my work. Top engineers and high quality people too. As others have pointed out Jack is probably in the top 99.9% of the healthiest people in the country, now he isn't allowed to play football. Hopefully his mental health isn't too badly affected.
He is allowed to play football. What he is not allowed is to play in the AFL competition who have a very strict protocol of compliance and crossing borders.

Engineers at your work are still able to be working as engineers, just not on certain sites.

Everyone can make their own decisions but the decisions come with implications that are well publicised.

I will show them respect but give no sympathy

Fast forward. Comes out Jack has had concussion issues that required treatment. His doctor advised him to hold off getting vaccinated.

All the jokers go quiet!
Rubbish. the concussion issues have arisen from the domestic game with his wife Courtney flocking with his head

Not great. The club had seemed confident he would come around eventually. Now that he’s pulled this shit you’d think it would be hard to reconcile

I’d respect him more if he just came out with an honest post regarding his beliefs and how he feels about potentially missing some footy. Rather than contradicting the official club statement with lies.

I`m ok with Jack`s decision but I hope he begins to realise it`s the New Normal to be vaccinated ..
The "New Normal to be vaccinated "??... can't imagine Mr and Mrs Darling senior have missed any of Jacks child hood vaccinations... it's the very old normal.
The " New Normal"... new for AFL players is that it is now a condition of employment because they work in a high spread risk setting... and could jeopardise a multi million dollar industry.

He needs get over it... get it... get on with it.

The universe is trolling us hard today, it must read BF.

Brisbane’s Cam Ellis-Yolmen joins West Coast’s Jack Darling on AFL sidelines for refusing COVID jab

Probably straight out of some anti vax handbook. Claim illness so people can't question it or whatever
It’s exactly this. He will have read, or been told, that on the medical grounds spelled out in some nonexistent part of the Magna Carta and the Australian Constitution of 1901 that, under Common Law, he isn’t required to disclose anything personal due to his status as a private citizen of the land and therefore he isn’t required to...

It’s the exact sort of bullshit people say out loud if asked about masks, or to check in, or to see their vax certificate. They think throwing vaguely legal sounding terms around will make people back off.

He probably shares those “I DO NOT GIVE FACEBOOK PERMISSION TO USE MY POSTS OR IMAGES….” style posts too.

Jack of the family Darling a FREE MAN of this land.

Really hope for Jack's sake that he has been smart financially. Can't see him making a transition to a new industry without being vaccinated. Ill-informed and shortsighted from a champion of the club, sad day.
