Introduce a new drill into every training session. Kick non-stop bullets into structural weak points of the JDS. Then let nature take it's course.
just get dusty to do a dont argue on the stand
which would be ironic since jack dyer was the first to use the dont argue when he began his career

I never seen so many supporters happy and excited to destroy a major part of their history.
The council are stooges for developers, and Peggy and Benny have been lobbying hard for over a year.
People here even bagging the National Trust.
A sad state of affairs .
You’re an embarrassment. Are we going to see you on the news chaining yourself to the rafters to prevent the bulldozers moving forward?

Chill out guys and girls, one thing that hasn’t been spoken of , once they demolish the stand and start building an underground car park and all the centres for the various community groups are we going to relocate to craigeburn?
yes

Bartlett is the club historian .

We all know what he does, the point is his opinion on the matter means jack in the grand scheme of things, just like everyones opinion on here.

He can however document the changeover for when people look back in the future.

You need to give it a rest on the claiminng people have been bought off or are corrupt as well.

I'm not daying anyone is corrupt . I'm saying with a $65 million re-development plan there must be significant pressure put on people to be a team player.
It's getting knocked down because they don't value it .

Yes and it can be stopped by the planning minister Richard Wynne.

Which I highly doubt.

The State government has poured millions into the upgrade of major sporting facilities over the last four years (including Punt Road Oval) and has a been a key policy plank.

Added that Richard Wynne is retiring and not standing for re-election this November, and nor is a specific electorate issue (I.e. won’t impact a swing seat), I’d expect that this would go h through relatively unscathed.

Expect that there will have to be some retention of the heritage value though. Likely would be the re-use of some materials from the original stand in some other manner (e.g. a monument of some kind).

The state govt have already committed funding to the project , you’d reasonably expect that support to continue

Yeah, they don't value it because it's ****ed

Luckily we supporters and the club don't own it, just tenants.

The people of Richmond will have the opportunity to object. I expect there will be many objections.
Not one question on it at the AGM From the RFC members.

And the people of Richmond can object but Yarra Park does sit in the City of Melbourne.

As per many things Richmond FC, I wouldn’t use the BigFooty pulse o meter as the test.

As much as it saddens me to see the stand go, the redevelopment of the precinct has to happen. It's logical and makes sense. Not all change is bad. This will further progress the club and society with some much more needed infrastructure. I am very much ok with it now i know much more about it.

You're in a sad state of affairs if you think the RFC is embodied in a physical stand. The RFC is a CLUB. A CLUB is a group of people. It's not a building or a stand. It's a group of people that band together to create history themselves. You remember the moments. The pirouette of a Dusty curling through goal against GWS or Dusty beating 5 Geelong players to kick a goal from the boundary. Royce Hart taking a screamer in the 1967 GF. KB turning Stan Magro inside out to kick his 7th goal in the 1980 GF. That's the history that matters. You aren't old enough to remember other buildings that have been and gone from the club since 1885. Who cares? They are all documented. The old stand will be documented too. That's why we just move on and keep modernising our club. We want our club to have the best possible facilities to create more memorable moments in the future. You are placing too much importance on inanimate objects rather than the achievements of people. The achievements are what matter. They transcend time. Buildings just crumble.
My family has a lot of history with the stand and club and I know for a fact the thought of the RFC leaving Punt rd because of the stand would raise the dead!!
