It will be a future 1st and that's it. Suns already said they are happy to keep him if they don't get a deal that's not satisfying. And they won't trade and future picks back anyway cause of the academy kids coming in next year

No thats not how this works... You need to help the Non-Victorian clubs as well! Bowes deal 2.0 haha

Sorry, no salary dump 😂 Picks concessions era is over. No free picks to use on dumps.

Port did make some major commitment to Luko looking at rumoured salary, contract length.

I actually think Luko is a very good player in a right system. Just don't bomb the ball inside 50 like you did against Swans.

OK, get a new coach.

Port would want something back if they are picking up his full salary.

The Suns need his salary off their salary cap where the pick swap is predicated on who pays for his two year $million current contact.

I'd be pretty wary of a salary being reported by Jon Ralph via a Crows source (who just lost out on his services) as gospel. But the whole league can see that with Dixon done and Marshalls position up in the air (does a call have to be made for his safety?) that Port do want him and can't play the "this is a purely salary dump" card. I think the truth is that we're offering him a reasonable pay day for a reasonable amount of years but we aren't talking 7 figures.

Anyway it's all irrelevant because I suspect Port will fold and give a late first. Where they get it I don't know, I would hope they're backtracking on getting rid of Houston now Perryman is off the table.

Geelong will continue to just get ridiculous deals handled to them that no other club can replicate because that's what happens

Then in other words it won't work next year then.

No doubt Lukos pay is good to get off the books but that’s not the reason he was told to look elsewhere. He put himself above the team, Dimma wanted him to play back and he sooked it up.

Its Dimma way or the highway and that is a valuable lesson for the entire playing group

No way (likely a rumour from us thrown to him), 7 years at $800K is already bad.

What do you reckon Fog’s extension will be? Not a lot of difference between them as players - Fog a bit more contested. Luko will improve next year. He is only 24 - it’s not like Port are going to trade him at some stage (similar to Fog). Who cares how many years

Seriously, he sooked it up? He started off 1/2 back for the Suns and was pretty damn good at it, not to mention his skilled field kicking.

And he let everyone know he didn’t want to play there, later in The year he was told to take a week away from the club as he was still sooking

With nothing going back??? That's a very horrible deal but what happens when you offer another 4 years at $900K when he already had another 2 years at $900K. Port Power had no negotiation.

Not a horrible deal at all. Based on this year pick 15. Very fair. He will be a 35-50 goal a year forward for them, equivalent to Fog for scoreboard impact. Easily worth pick 15.

Wouldn’t have been worth our F1 - because that could be anywhere from 4-12

I think their pick will be 8-10 so it's a horrible deal and see him more a 35 than 50 goals as a 2nd KPF (possibly 1st depending on Geogiadias continue development).

I don’t see them falling off a cliff, Luko will provide a quality forward option as long as they can kick it to him on a lead.
