Once again, trust you or guy who created Hawthorns list.....
He created that list hey? Last time i checked he reported to others who made the decisions... last time i checked he was a recruiter for draft talent and not someone who works trades. He has literally no experience in pro scouting or trading. Which given his comments you can understand why...

Also why isnt he still a recruiter then?

I guess mick malthouse is an expert on coaching too. He has won 3 flags after all and 6 grand finals

Ill ask a third time now. Did you read the piece?

Because if you had you would understand that he really has no idea about our list and probably any other side bar hawthorn

It's all about risk. Carlisle is a relatively known quantity. Pick 5 is not.
There is a much greater risk of the pick 5 under performing (when directly compared to Carlisle) than Carlisle being out performed by the Pick 5.
It depends on how St Kilda size up this risk. Is there a 30% chance the pick 5 will be a better player, 10% chance, 80% chance.....
If im St Kilda, im doing the deal.
Precisely.

You just have to look at the big men taken early in recent drafts.. Luenberger, Gumbleton, Hansen, Kreuzer, Grant, Watts, Naitanui, Hurley, Day, Patton, Boyd, Kolodashni.

It's bloody hard to find good big men, and Carlisle is a very very good big man.

Alex Rance , Pick 18
Kurt Tippett, pick 32.
Justin Westhoff pick 71.
Cale Hooker pick 54
Tom Bellchambers - Pre season draft
Jackson Trengove - Pick 22
Jordan Roughhead - Pick 31
Shaun McKernan - Pick 29 - then rookie draft
Rhys Stanley -Pick 47
Jake Carlisle -Pick 24

You should be able to get something pretty decent with our second rounder :D

Are saints supporters delusional, or is the fact theyve had no success for so long has actually got to their head?

So much blame on Essendon. Is Carlisle worth pick 5? Possibly. Is he worth a 1st round pick? Absolutely. 2nd round? no.

Either give us pick 5, or work out how to secure another first round pick and stop whining...

Isn't that exactly what our club is trying to do now? They are talking to several clubs about bringing in two first round picks.

You dont think hes even worth a second rounder? Guess Saints can offer a 3rd rounder then.

Richmond are offering Pick 12 as a minimum according to Hutchy.

IMO its a smart play. Carlisle is worth more then our 12 and our second rounder next year. It costs us nothing to offer it, in the slight chance they continue to stall. If we got Carlisle for that cheap ill be stoked as finally we will be able to get rid of Chaplin lol
