I think it's fair. Brissy would want 10 alone so middle ground is an upgrade of Collingwood's 2nd rounder.

This is exactly why I was arguing the Pies won't get both Treloar and Aish unless they are willing to trade a valuable player such as Sidebottom, Grundy, Elliott, etc.

If I was Ashcroft and you guys looked to take Dixon for peanuts I would use that pick (probable late 1st round) to bid on your academy players to force you to have to upgrade your picks and miss out on at least 1 of them. Assuming we took a pick for Aish we would have a late first rounder, a end of 1st rounder (compo pick from previous years) and the 1st or 2nd pick in round 2. You could secure your first academy pick with your 1st pick in round 2 but couldn't match our bid for any one of our remaining picks for any of your other academy players as you wouldn't have enough points.

I don't know that a pick 20 bid on Hipwood is that controversial. In most non-BF write-ups, he's in that 15-20 range already.

With Mills, Hooper and Kennedy potentially taking multiple picks it will also up the value of our 3rd, 4th and 5th round picks, enough for the missing 30points.

Could also be looking at a return of points with Keayes bid. (This does seem confusing with the afl examples thou)

I do agree that we should be looking to bring another later rounder in to help, or even trading or second round pick for more points as Insurance.
