Sorry, I must be lost.

It is a possibility Collingwood end up with both, but I think Treloar will be number one priority. What do you think the Pies would give up for the pair of them?

If Aish chooses Collingwood it would probably be a second rounder or a straight swap for Oxley or something in that ballpark. for Treloar, it will take first rounder plus Kennedy or Broomhead something in that ballpark. First rounder will be about pick 8 IMO, and it could take Seedsman to be traded to a club like Essendon to be added to the deal for a swap of position in the draft, say pick 4 and 22 for picks 8 and 26 etc... I could see picks swapping quite a bit with the undervalued Carlisle going to another club. Lets say Carlisle goes to the Dawks for pick 18 then Collingwood would get that pick in the trading of Seedsman. It WILL be interesting, and it won't be as straightforward as people think IMO.

PS I appreciate your dignified response, unlike the a lot of the narcissitic behaviour and general anxiety displayed about the mention of trade talk in this thread.

If Collingwood finish with pick 8 and have pick 8 and 26 then there is a possibility Collingwood could land both. Treloa is worth a lot Aish not so much now.

At this point it's all speculation. My opinion is Brisbane will play hardball and not be overly concerned about losing Aish for nothing in the PSD if only to prove a point to prospective players that enter their system only to leave after their first contract expires. Brisbane will demand a pick in that 7-12 range and perhaps take a teens pick when all is said and done. As I said, this could be a point proving exercise, and the Lions will be okay with that IMO.

In regards to Treloar, GWS will be in a similar boat to Brisbane. They know as does the rest of the competition that Treloar is worth a top 5 pick at the very least or a mid first round pick plus a best 22 player in GWS's talented lineup.

Looking at the Pies list I don't see any players they would be willing to give up to get both Treloar and Aish. The names you threw up won't get the job done. You'd need to part with another 'Beams' type to generate the draft currency.

You could respect this stance but IMO it could backfire. Perhaps Aish is liked by teammates? Perhaps taking this position is placing the clubs welfare above and beyond player welfare. Remember last year, Lions poached a contracted player and started off the negotiations with a low-ball offer (pick 4). If they don't let Aish get to Collingwood then really as a club they don't have ethics or integrity to the players or their position at the trade table. I could see that behaviour backfiring to an degree.

So because Aish wants to get more attention in Victoria we should accept a lousy offer?

The situation is completely different. Aish isn't going back to his sick dad and he hasn't helped us win a premiership. He doesn't deserve anything from the club for walking out on his first contract.

I'm pretty certain that the truth behind your opinion of Brisbane playing hardball has more to do with what you want them to do, rather then what would actually happen. No-one likes hypocrites right? You treat others as you would like to be treated. Brisbane low balled Collingwood on Beams, and so now the shoes on the other foot, we did the right thing by Beams so Brisbane really should do the right thing by Aish. Otherwise they'd look like scumbags to any person who is disinterested on the matter, which considering Collingwood is involved that doesn't apply to anyone least of all people on the bigfooty trades thread.

No. You tried lowballing Collingwood when the shoe was on the other foot. You'd look like absolute campaigners not to let Aish get to his destination and accept unders, and a second rounder is what you'll get, you won't get near Carlton's pick 3 or any first rounder inside the top ten.

Don't even know where to start with your post. Good luck with getting Aish for basically nothing, won't happen. You can keep dreaming though.

No we wouldn't, his Dad isn't sick, his Dad is from Adelaide, so why would we look like pricks for not letting him go to Collingwood? Don't know what planet you visited to concoct the fantasy dribble you are posting but please come back safely.

Beams is gone, get over it. Not like we didn't compensate you fairly. Who gives a **** what the initial offer was, that's what negotiations are all about. You got compensated fairly, let it go.

And you guys tried to take advantage of Beams' family situation to try and get pick 4 and Hanley.

See, Lions fans can twist the truth as well.

Wot? I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion.

Brisbane were stung two years ago with the mass exodus and will make a stance based on that experience.

In Brisbane's favour is they don't have 5-6 players that are all leaving at the same time. It's one player and they'll make a point to others by playing hardball. IMO.

Doubt Brisbane accept around pick 26. Aish had a good first year and it's not uncommon for a poor second year. Certainly worth a first rounder.

Brisbane will demand a first round pick and if it's a very high first round pick then they will give something back.

Based on currently ladder position and draft order, Pies picks 10 and 28 for Aish and 20 or something along those lines.

That trade could work. Just only if Pies don't land Treloar with their 1st rounder.
