Ryan Bastinac isn't at AFL House and won't be there. The player's agent is. Pickers knows Bastinac wants to go to the Lions. That consent is already clear.
Pickers though signs off the paperwork to be lodged on his client's behalf i.e tick of approval.

On Bastinac's instructions. Pickering obviously doesn't decide whether or not to sign off on it. Or when.

And the surprise is ?

Not going to happen we only have the 1 in 2016.

Tricky situation. Not Brisbane's fault if you have run out of appropriate currency for this trade period.

Derek has to get very creative, either in a direct trade or getting in on the Bastinac thing, because we can get everything we need for this year's trade period from North alone. More second round picks this year on top of what North are offering in the Bastinac trade are essentially useless to us. Collingwood has to find a way to give us something close to Aish's value that we can actually benefit from.

We don't have 17, Brisbane does.

I think Collingwood will get the deal done at the end of the day. I think it is kind of stupid to do nothing for 2 weeks then try and bust a nut on the final day with a half day left to get something done. Is there any good reason the Treloar deal took as long as it did to get done?
GWS decided they wanted to haggle over 1 ****ing pick position...

Have they got the currency yet? you could still delist more players. You might consider a player you get with pick 28 more appealing than someone on your main list. Or who's to say you can't trade our pick 26/28 with one of your picks for a 2016 first rounder. Yeah it might not be easy but it's better than not getting anything for Aish. In the end the biggest loser will be Brisbane if no trade gets done. Not that you didn't know that.

Yeah, nah.

I keep hearing how North have what Brisbane want, and Collingwood is obsolete. Then why haven't your clubs done the trade already? What're you waiting for?

You guys gotta get this idea out of your head that you hold the power. You don't. If your clubs genuinely had control, and the best deal was between North and the Lions, why wouldn't you just do the trade and shut up shop? You guys must know this deep down and it must hurt.

Another club has already tried to "swoop", and that was the 3 time reigning premier.

What happened? Oh yeah, that's right, he didn't even let them field an offer to him.

The player has to agree to join another club even in the Trade context; in FA, it ALL hinges on a player accepting to go to a certain club. But don't listen to me man, you just keep clutching at those straws... :drunk:

I got the above quote from the Yarran thread. Makes very good sense too.

Brisbane are strong at the moment. Prefer to trade Aish to North Melbourne.
Yes, clearly. And so does Pickering, and so does North still prefer that outcome. While Aish doesn't prefer it, it's moot. Interesting day ahead.

Could well be true. Collingwood probably don't have what Brisbane want.Won't be a big surprise if it can't get done and Aish either decides NM is acceptable or decides to go to the draft. Maybe Leigh was right all along

Guess North could help to make it work ....

North:
Out: Bastinac, 34, 38, 40, 53, 2016 2nd round
In: 10, 17, 43

Bris:
Out: Aish, 17
In: Bastinac, Saints 2016 2nd, North 2016 2nd, 38, 40

Pies:
Out: 26, 28, Saints 2016 2nd
In: Aish, 53

GWS:
Out: 10, 43
In: 26, 28, 34

Everyone's a winner :)
