Crows being prepared to accept 25 (admittedly, 28 by the time we traded it) straight up for ANB, but playing hardball for a F2 over Peatling is interesting. I guess ANB has many more runs on the board, but still.

Sounds like GWS aren't too upset about it.
two reasons
1. like me, theyre yet to be convinced peatling is an a or b grade mid
2. hes is ooc

Legit every Giants fan I've met....and the club wanted to keep him.
Let's not pretend we didn't want him. I'd still love him to change his mind.
Pity your coach and list management didn't rate him enough until it was too late?

We don't need to trade our future 1st.
Better business is to keep our future 1st & use our future 1st.

You think he's worse than Dylan Shiel though. That's not a high rating.
No one thinks that.
Shiel would be an option out of the middle for speed and a welcome home.

But Peatling is a local and his effort, pressure and defence is A+.

To me now he will always be Judas and I want to boo the hell out of him. Gutted he is going.
You got a talent coming in.

This is literally on your board with multiple likes.

Don't have to convince me, Peatling is much better than Shiel.

We are dealing with a local turning his back.
Shiel has speed over Peatling, effort about equal, but pressure and defence Peatling is ahead.
Of course my opinion.

Thinking about this further….

Does anyone else find yesterdays tweet by Ralphy strange? How in the heck do we poach a very promising mid - wanted by 7 clubs - and give him a 4 year contract (my best guess 650k+ ish) AND not give up either a first OR second rounder. Doesn’t sound right as GWS surely wouldn’t accept it.

I think perhaps there is something else at play esp considering Reid’s comments about “seeing what other clubs may do” (or similar)

Just wondering if we are indeed concerned that Weagles will take Draper (who is our clear number one choice according to many sources on this board inc Jenny) and we are prepared to trade from 4 to 2 by giving up our F2. If that’s the case it clearly rules our F2 for being the obvious core component of the Peatling trade.

The question then remains how do we satisfy Giants? Hopefully nothing to do with F1

It's the actual true measure of a players worth.
Agree with this.
Most decent clubs have a version of a Mutineer or Jeffcrowe who is heavily into rookies
Most decent clubs have a version of bigman who is a track watcher.
Both of ours are first class, in fantasy circles @bigman’s reports would be read by hundreds of non crows

If you follow those people’s comments from other clubs who are serious about their footy I reckon
you get a good feel on all aspects including who’s, tradable, player worth to them etc.

He was taking the piss I believe

I think the key reason so many clubs were chasing Peatling was they saw him as a potential bargain. He doesn't have the runs on the board to warrant a high draft pick in a trade, but he might turn out to be a really solid player. So the fact that he was pursued heavily is more about the assumed cost of the trade for the return rather than people thinking he is a top line player.

I think he’s not a proven prospect but has real weapons that clubs are after , particularly speed . Every club wants more speed

He’s also had to do it the hard way so has resilience in his game and drive to give it his best shot as nothing has come easy

I was wondering where this don't want him stuff has come from.

Makes the excitement at getting him seem somewhat silly then.
