Last year it was one. This year its two as we have one less senior listed player than last year.

Heaps has been said about rookies being underpaid. If any of our rookies are elevated prior to r1, will they get a pay increase or are they stuck on their original contract?

They get an increase to their base payment for the period they are elevated. No back dating increase.

He looks pretty skinny to me. Not much meat on his legs. Jarrod is studying teaching and was on placement at a school in his hometown of Murray Bridge when he was drafted. Port's media team went with him to school as he told the kids he wont be around anymore.

We get 2 because our list is 38 + 6 rookies, not 39 + 5 as was the case in 2016. From the 2012-16 CBA and seeing the 2017-22 hasn't been finalised I assume the old continues on for 2017. See Clause 18 (e) (i)

18. Player Lists – 2013 - 2016
(a) Each AFL Club shall maintain minimum and maximum numbers of Players on their Lists during the Term.
(b) The maximum number of Players on the Club’s Primary List shall be 40.
(c) The minimum number of Players on the Club’s Primary List shall be 38.
(d) The number of Players referred to in clause 18(b) and 18(c) shall be Players included on the AFL Club’s Primary List and shall be in addition to the allowable number of Rookies, including nominated Rookies, as defined in the Rules. The maximum number of Rookies and Players on the Primary List shall be in accordance with Schedule D.

(e) From the commencement of the 2013 AFL Season, an AFL Club is eligible to nominate a Rookie Player as being eligible for senior selection by the date and time nominated by the General Counsel which date shall be at the conclusion of the Pre-Season Competition, and if it otherwise satisfies the requirements of this clause 18 as follows:
(i) if it has 38 Players on its Primary List, it may nominate up to two (2) Nominated Rookies;
(ii) if it has 39 Players on its Primary List, it may nominate one (1) Nominated Rookie;
as provided under the AFL Rules.

(f) An AFL Club is eligible to nominate a further Rookie Player as being eligible for senior selection mid-season in accordance with the AFL Rules and if it otherwise satisfies the requirements of this clause 18.

(g) The right of an AFL Club to nominate a Rookie Player under clause 18(e) and 18(f) is subject to the AFL Club demonstrating to the satisfaction of the Investigations Manager that it can accommodate within its Total Player Payments the Football Payments which must be paid to the Rookie Player as prescribed by item 4 of Schedule C.

Funny, I heard there were 3 spots
3 spots for what? We can only have a maximum of 40 players to select from if we don't have a player on the Long Term injury list before Rd 12. So we can have 3 after Rd Rd 11 if we have a primary list of 38 and don't have any players on the LTI list.

Fair enough, just heard from someone who knows one of the rookies. Never mind, what you are saying makes more sense. Although would Dougie be on LTI list?
