We 100% will be overpaying for him and unless he changes history and becomes a 5-6x AA and a premiership player then it will always be an overpayment.

There arent many pick 1s that you’d pay this price for, let alone an unproven 19yo. Happy to do it, but history says it will always be an over payment
Your 100% correct I can’t understand how anyone can’t see this.

Assuming none get traded this year Port will probably be sniffing around all these blokes as Free Agents:

Ben McKay, Harry Himmelberg, Parish, Melican, Bailey Williams, Plowman, Weideman.
Ummmmm…look I know I’m on your board, and that you collectively rate North supporters even lower than your coach at the moment, but you’re not getting Ben McKay as a free agent. Melican, Plowman or Weideman maybe. I know you guys need a key back but the good one on that list is going nowhere. Peace, I’ll see myself out.

Port were in contact with him and his managment earlier this year already in regard to getting him over.

That should read "Rowey hopes Port don't land JHF"
That's obvious - he said he'd laugh his gizzards out when it falls through. When JHF wins the Showdown medal next year, I can imagine him saying, "And Stephen Rowe - you were wrong."

The bloke that thinks that Rankine should be traded for a future 1st not this years pick 5 so that the crows can get Philopou. One the biggest and dumbest flogs in the the Adelaide media!
Things might have changed since I left Adelaide but from memory there was never anyone decent in the media.

Horne-Francis wouldn't dignify Rowe's opinions by caring enough to bother doing something like that.

No that's not true

North will be s**t next year, the year after that and the year after that. They don’t need a key forward, they need two kids like Rowell and Anderson to base their team around. There is no dynamism in their side - no one you can point to and say, “Well, he’s a point of difference.” For some incredible reason they played the one guy who could have been a point of difference in Horne-Francis at half-forward - the second most thankless position in the AFL, second only to key forward.

Half-forward is where you put your Hummer - guys like Powell-Pepper, who run all day, tackle all day and maybe bob up for a couple of goals. It's not a creative position, but a position with a defined set of objectives. The position Horne-Francis should have been playing from day one is deep forward - the position that Gray, Martin and Dangerfield play when they are in the forward line - where your Ferrari gets parked when it's not in the midfield. Horne-Francis should be rotating with Rozee and Butters in that role...between the three of them, they should be running at 90% TOG, with Rozee and Butters 80/10 midfield/forward and Horne-Francis 30/60 midfield/forward.

North literally prioritised keeping Cameron Zurhaar happy and making sure that he re-signed this year over making sure that their No.1 pick was engaged with the team by playing him in a role where he could impact the scoreboard regularly. Shows you where their priorities lie, and why they'll never win another flag for the foreseeable future.
Sorry but this isn’t accurate, Jason played 17 games for the year and had the 4th most CBAs for North. He played in the guts a lot. 86820A58-0F3E-4AAC-B738-79E12D97D0FA.png
