Posting a Stephen Rowe quote/soundbite should be treated the same way as quoting some nuffy from the Adelaide BF board.

When we get him there will be all sort of guffaws and rampant laughing from the Crom and I have no doubt they will take responsibility for us having to pay so much for him.

That will last for as long as the first Showdown when he rips them a new one.

so the mega deal broke down because of our future second... so essentially we need to find 1 future second?
Really all that would need to change is we get Geelong's future 2nd off of Brisbane instead of 36. Nothing else about the deal would need to change. And that's still a great price for Gunston from Brisbane's perspective.

What's a good game of North's this year to watch on replay to see how he went about it?
I wouldn’t recommend watching many of our games lol. But he was much better early in the season. Probably vs Sydney round four, the SCG suited our mids and we had a decent crack. Jason was terrific. Can’t recall the game he got the rising star nom for but that would be the other obvious one.

Just imagine the centre sq in the next showdown...

Rozee, JHF, Wines and Butters lining up against 4 Spud McSpuderys.

Meanwhile the billion dollar fwd line will be getting cold all night.

Calm down, Hinkley will still be coach...

Sorry but this isn’t accurate, Jason played 17 games for the year and had the 4th most CBAs for North. He played in the guts a lot.View attachment 1531375
Yes, you were switching him between half-forward and midfield - 32.2% of Centre Bounces Attended means 67.8% of the time he was at half-forward. I'm telling you that for a young kid with the talent of Horne-Francis, that's not his jam and he should have been deep forward for 67.8% of the time. You should have put him in Zurhaar's spot, moved Zurhaar to replace Ziebell and punted Ziebell wherever he fit because he's over 30 and not going to be a part of your next flag.

For those playing at home, according to the same stats, Zak Butters attended 33.9% of CBAs for Port, and Connor Rozee attended 49.6%. These two also rotate between half-forward and midfield.

So you're saying that to get Ratugolea...

We would have to trade Geelong's future 2nd... to Geelong

Has that every happened before? It feels hilarious.

I think we should do that deal.

If we get these deals done without any player leaving I'd be very surprised. Someone needs to leave to get these 3 in.

Best case scenario would be JHF, Rioli and Esava

Worst case scenario would be Rioli and Esava

We wouldn’t be allowed to trade that future even if we got it.
Yes we can. The rules only say we have to retain at least one second round pick. You can trade out a first and a second, as long as you bring in another second to replace it.

I love how Geelong are allowed to take a solid young(ish) player in Jack Bowes off the Suns’ hands, convert his horror 2-year deal into a sweet 4-year deal without penalty, and collect pick #7 for their ‘troubles’;

but we’re not allowed to try to pay through the d¡ckhole for JHF and Rioli because of trifling pedantry involving stacking one too many minor future picks.

The AFL, everyone!

Wouldn’t we still be giving our future second to WC though?
Then If we get pick from Brisbane we would have to keep it as that’s our only future 2nd.
