How good to get this done without forcing a player out who didn't want to leave. Tells the league that if you're part of port you'll be looked after.
As for North, we had Ollie in tears the night we drafted him, 10 years later he's on a long term deal and won a Brownlow.
Says a lot for this club
Ollie came in dreading playing for Port and now he's part of the furniture. JHF came in excited to play for Norf and ended up leaving at the first available opportunity. Norf fans are desperate to pretend that this is down to the individual and not the environment. They are wrong.

For those who kept a close eye on JHF this year, how disappointing was his season on-field?

I get that he showed frustration and had some immature moments off-field that weren't in the interests of his team, but his on-field performance going by highlights and stats alone doesn't seem as bad as some in the media are portraying. He had a handful of games with 20 or so touches and although he didn't kick the number of goals that I would have expected, he seemed to play a fair bit in the midfield and his highlights are still bloody impressive.

There's been some commentary around a lack of match fitness, match hardness.

Are there any red flags there that he will be a Cam Rayner like slow burn?

By champion data standards he was 3rd or 4th best first year player and he won North's best first year player award. He was fine.

How exciting if you're a port supporter a generational talent elite powerful and pacey. I wish him all the best I want him to fulfill his protentional now he is back home in comfortable surroundings the world is his oyster. If he has his quite games in the Showdown and fires in other games happy days. :);)

Yes we have him for six years, but he has signed a five year deal not starting until 2024.
Next year he has to complete his originla two year draft deal.
One rumour was 5 x $800K = $4M
No he diesnt.

Tom Boyd went onto $1m a year after only 1 year at GWS.

It shows good faith by Jason and his manager to stay on a base of about $120k and match payments and gamres played bonuses that take it to around $240k if he plays 20 games or more.

Its also realism that we couldnt pay him $700k in 2023 given our cap situation. We have backended some contracts.

He had a great first half of the year, then North moved him out of the midfield where he struggled.

His first half of the year was as good as you’d hope for an 18yo mid

About time we have someone who is driven to be elite and not jjust a good bloke.

Could be skipper in 4 or 5 years time if he reaches his goal.

Was that about when he had the temerity to question Goldstein and other senior players?

How dare he question the great leadership of a club that had won 8 of their last 50 something games.

JHF has the frame and body composition to grow into a big strong man.. classic A frame with a wide set of shoulders.. by 22 he’ll be a beast. Compliments Rozee and butters nicely

Yeah, easy to forget in all the hoopla just how many weapons he has as a rookie.

almost worth playing a tap ruckman with that clearance work, hey Kern?

Every time I think we paid thru' the nose I look at his highlights package. Outside of Koch blundering in with clumsy dumb comments

I thought we played it beautifully. Of course Donuts was front 'n' centre getting it done hey Kane you snivelling weasel.

Crawl out of Ken's Khyber Pass and try to do your job with some semblance of balance.

Norf feel jilted but any sympathy I had for them evaporated when I went to their board.

What a tumble dryer on maximum heat that was. An echo chamber of bile and vitriol. You've doubled your money on JHF and with

the AFL's largesse a golden opportunity to reset your club has been handed to you on a plate.

Welcome to Port Jason, get a good pre-season into ya and feel the love on Family Day.
