The trade will get done. A pick 1 in his first 12 months doesn’t burn bridges like this simply to be welcomed back. Also its basically agreed to in principal already, with later picks back and forth being finalised.

Like others have said, this is the highest profile trade since the trade period became a commodity for the AFL and you’re insane to think they won’t milk every last drop out of it.

Absolutely.

If this trade wasn't agreed to in principle at least a week or two ago then JHFs management wouldn't have gone public with the request. No way they go public without a guarantee as crawling back to North is an untenable option.

The trade period is just theatre now for the media, they've paid a lot of money!

The north board is mind boggling, a complete lack of self awareness about where they are actually at as a club, I personally wish we just waited the 12 months til he was out of contract its mind numbingly frustrating.

With all the stuff ups and the state of their club and this is the hill they want to die on, it is truly bizarre, take your frustrations out on your administration and accept some responsibility for the situation you're in after Brayshaw pulled you from the edge of death, instead of using a kid and the club he wants to go to as your scapegoats.

He went for 12 and 19, which is a end of 1st round. It's effectively 2 firsts.

Dunkley as the Dogs B&F is worth equivalent to Taranto.
15 + 15-18, would've been a similar amount, probably less than Taranto. The Dogs probably would've taken that. Point is Brisbane said they needed the Dogs 2nd and 3rd picks to do that. That's crazy.

Our 8 alone is worth as much as the 15 + 15-18.

They’ve been wedged. JHF doesn’t want to be there and North have reluctantly accepted it. North will cut their losses and move on quickly to consider further options during the trade period, not chew up time with this trade with being unproductive.
