Still here mate. How you holding up?He's taking the piss, hope he fronts up in here if Laverde does ask for a trade though
Oh no.Well that's backfired.
Not too bad, anyone asked to be traded to Essendon yet?Still here mate. How you holding up?
Oh no.
I have it on good authority we actually turned him down. We've decided Rockliff is the better option that's why Laverde had to accept 200k a year.

Really, the clues were always there. You just had to look for them.
That's 2 years.
spot onLaverde wearing black and white and lit up with red lighting - was clearly interested in signing for St Kilda for two years. I bet Connors talked him out of it, told him to do the right thing and stay loyal to his club.
I am the lizard kingNext u will tell us that you would have taken Gresham at pick 6 anyway.
Well that's backfired.

Indeed. This thread has been truly golden.
Some idiotic Saints fans.
Some idiotic Essendon fans.
But mostly just fans from both teams having fun and talking shit for about 30 pages.
Might as well delist your whole team using that logic. Why would you want Rockliff? 80% of his possessions are useless.
Might as well delist your whole team using that logic.
No. That would be stupid. Put it on you guys missing the finals. Easy money.Lol when you dont get him you would of had Hurley, Laverde and Rockliff. Destination club. Should I put my life savings on saints for the flag next year?
I agree with you. And I also think that Laverde has put a lot of pressure on himself by using St Kilda as leverage. If he doesn't live up to his potential, there's not going to be any sympathy or second chances.Indeed.
I, for one, never believed that a guy who let it known when he was drafted that it was Essendon or nobody would burn them so quickly. He just used St Kilda to get the deal he was after. He succeeded.
It isn't like players have not done this before, especially managers who want a bigger cut. But it was always a low probability event that he would leave.
Definitely not one to spill blood over.
However, that does not mean that blood would not be spilt. Football is an emotional game and everything involved in it turns the hormones onto high.
Indeed. It is a high risk strategy. Essendon will not give him the benefit of the doubt in future.I agree with you. Hope so because otherwise Connors has put him in the position of having to perform at elite standard every week which, given his proneness to injuries and relatively young age, is a big ask.I'm of the understanding that there wasn't much difference, if any, between the contract he was first offered and what he ended up taking.
Glad I was wrong. Got to have respect for the man. Hope he turns into a superstar.http://www.triplem.com.au/melbourne...has-turned-down-million-dollar-offer-to-stay/
