What I don't get is Purple claims the Saints offer was a million over 3 years, so 330-340k a year, but the rumour was we were offering 400k a year. Pretty big difference, especially when the rumoured Essendon contract was 250k a year. The difference between 250k and 330-340 isn't huge really. I wonder how accurate all of Damo's contract figures are.

I agree with you. And I also think that Laverde has put a lot of pressure on himself by using St Kilda as leverage. If he doesn't live up to his potential, there's not going to be any sympathy or second chances.

If he spuds it up next year there is no way we are going to offer Billings and our first rounder, like we were going to this year.
