Given the vitriol White, who cost us bugger all unlike Howe, receives it's almost a certainty Howe will cop the same if not more next year.

And most of it will come from people claiming this trade a success right now.

If he crumbles under pressure like White......then put me down on the list now.

BUT I am in the camp that will give him a chance to succeed first.

To the poster above who said that the list rebuild has "misfired so far".... Come on.

De Goey, Crisp, Moore, Varcoe, Grundy, Broomhead, Adams, Greenwood, Maynard, Schaz, Langdon, Williams, Elliott (and soon to be Treloar and Aish) are all players who have been brought in under Bucks' tenure.

Don't come in here with your emotionally charged hyperbole and use it as an excuse to pot shot the club. Let's wait at least one year before we pass judgement!
I find it funny that we can be in a position with so many talented players coming through, lauded by a lot of the off season comments, and possibly bring in the best young talent available in Treloar and a very promising player in Aish and yet our rebuild has failed.

2012 we played in a prelim final. We have rebuilt our list without dropping out. How many teams can say they did that?

Honestly baffled by this trade, just wait and see how irritating howe will be for us, most inconsistent player on melbournes list constantly fades out of games and looks like he doesnt care, reminiscent of jesse white trade and he is a disgrace

White was in and out of the Sydney team and lost his spot often due to inconsistency. Howe has hardly missed a game and has shown a lot in a team going through one of the poorer periods of any team in recent history. White was always a gamble due to his athleticism. Howe is a much more proven player.

How were they comparable deals? How is Crisp a 21 year old steak knife in the Beams deal comparable to this one?? You have a poiint about Varco improving out of sight once he got to us but he was cheap.. didn't cost us 2 promising youngsters (one a first rounder) and a draft downgrade. Are you happy with this trade TD? Why?
Varcoe cost us a former AA, and 2014 4th in our B&F player.

He was a lunatic, but Harry's trade value was significantly higher than BK and Seed's combined. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Yes patience is a virtue but do you honestly believe our list is ready to challenge any time soon even with Howe, Treloar and Aish?
I'd say for that to happen Aish needs to surprise us all by turning into a gun as getting Treloar will be offset by losing Swanny pretty soon.

What MarkT2 is saying is we're undergoing the second wave of the rebuild but at the same time won't have the access to elite youngsters in this and next years draft and that won't help our rebuild one bit. Unless of course we trade a proven player again but this won't help our cause either.

Soft under pressure or not White has delivered what was expected of him based on his form at Sydney.

And Howe isn't known for his toughness either.

Soft under pressure doesn't win you Premierships.

As for Howe I am not sure about his toughness but am looking forward to finding out in 2016.

Good pick up. Howe addresses a need as we have lacked a medium sized forward. Elliott and Fasolo are smalls. This has Varcoe written all over it. If we can pick up a small crumbing forward then our forward line becomes very dangerous. Exciting times. Can't wait to watch Howe in 2016.

Now on to Treloar and Aish.

Well I've seen enough of Howe to know he isn't tough or will improve our list that much.

And once again I'm happy we're getting him due to his versatility, x factor and as a depth option but don't think and this is based on his output to date, he's a walk up starter for us or the messiah he's painted out to be.
And unless he improves his form to Varcoe's extent, which was a miracle in itself, I'm certain he'll attract a lot of criticism once the realisition of what sort of player he is sets in.

Yeah see I'm in the minority in that I dont hate White. Yeah he hasn't been a success, but he also hasn't had the chance to play the right role either.

We kind of have bottomed out

Can't believe what we paid for Howe. A second rounder would and should have been enough.
Market forces at work Mick.
Bear in mind Dees thought they were getting their hands on pick 3.
We want him, we pay for him.

All year people sooking about our lack of x factor. We get possibly one of the most x factor type players out there and people sooking that he isn't consistent. Thing about x factor is it can't be all game.

I think it's a good get and we lost two vfl level players who wanted out and a fresh start. The same two players these people sooking wanted delisted for "vfl level performances".

We are looking to fill some gaps in this draft to take that next step. Some midfield depth and an extra forward is exactly what we need!

I am happy enough to get Howe, but for Seedsman AND Kennedy? A nominal late pick in a weak draft aside that seems like we over paid. I can't believe we don't end up with a second round pick as well. I think Seedsman will make us look silly and in 2 years we will be looking to trade in a player of his ilk and play a first rounder. It looks like we don't have much to give up for Aish and Treloar will cost us a draft fortune. This list build has been pretty misfired so far.

Moore, Grundy, Scharenberg, DeGoey, Treloar, Crisp, Greenwood, Langdon, Marsh, Howe, Adams, Broomhead, Langdon, Ramsay, Maynard, Varcoe, Marsh, Cox, Aish.

Perhaps you need to step back a bit to smell the roses.

Spot on.
It gives us scope to play Billy or Fas through the midfield also.

Totally agree, we bring a player in to fill a gap and play a roll in the team. Another piece of the puzzle come together.

Do you feel all warm and fuzzy now?
