- Melbourne advise they're insulted by the offer and are angry
- Fremantle publically advise they are out
- Melbourne claim they would have taken 5 (not ours, based on Neale trade) and 23. So a first and a second that insulted them greatly 24 hours prior.

Moving 6 spots gets you from insulted and angry to ok? Do Melbourne want Hogan gone? Why the price drop from 2 top 10's to a top 10 and a second round?

Jeez, a few people in here taking a very salty approach.

Fremantle have done absolutely nothing wrong and are under no requirement to meet Melbourne's demands. I see it as Melbourne has actively shopped Hogan, given that they believe May gives them better team balance and a shot at a flag. The currency they needed for May, would have to have come from Freo, who don't believe the asking price for Hogan would be beneficial for their club. That's business and no amount of crying or labelling Freo unprofessional etc. is going to change the facts of the matter.

BS like 'they've been in his ear for years' is just rubbish, especially since a lot of their football department has changed in the past 12 months. Freo playing this well IMO, have absolutely nothing to lose, including the line of thought that players won't nominate them in the future because of this, which is pure drivel.

5 gets them May because it is high up enough to make it worth it for Gold Coast. Very simple!

Hogan is two top end first round picks without doubt. If Hogan wants to live in Perth any time soon, Eagles is the place. If Hogan wins a flag with the Dees next year, I can't see him ever leaving, especially since all our better players are young or in the premiership window.

Show me a single other instance in the history of AFL where a club conducts a medical for a player, makes an offer for him which gets rejected, then have the list manager come out and rule out a move, only to finally get him in the next 5 days. I'll wait.

I think Peter Bell has been following the soccer transfer windows, seeing how managers/football directors talk a lot of shit in an effort to get a better deal, and thinks he can apply that to the AFL.

Have Melbourne been pushing him out?
Hogan said he won’t commit beyond 2019 at this stage (doesn’t mean he won’t)

Knowing they’ll get better compensation this year they told Jesse he can explore his options. It was always about what Jesse wanted.
