Karl "West Coast Eagles" Langdon tweeted that the Hogan deal was dangerous for Freo and he hoped they'd learnt from previous errors in taking players with "issues"

Wonder what it was that he meant.
Lol, just after they re-signed Bennell.

Langdon has been spreading rumours that Hogan was returning to Freo for the past 4 years. The bloke is an uninformed moron.

Right... except Freo aren't allowed to do that. Surely Barrett being the fantastic investigative journalist that he is, can illegally dig up Jesse's medical history and illegally distribute it himself.

You can say he didnt pass your medical, im pretty sure. Richmond did it with Trengrove

And now Bell is openly trying to keep Neale and get Bennell out. Change of policy at the club?

**** all idea on Hogan rumours though, never met the guy.

So two things are likely here:

1) They’re bluffing. Melbourne want May, Brisbane want Neale. This allows them to play hardball with Brisbane and brings Collingwood back in it for May. So Melbourne now take less for Hogan so May gets done, and keeps Brisbane guessing.

2) Fremantle’s offer was final. This is either because:

1) Freo are the new Essendon and try to be hard men. In which case lol.
2) Hogan’s medical wasn’t quite right. They did say he passed it but maybe it was a qualified pass and the navicular is more troublesome than it might overwise appear. In that case the deal might be off.

My original guess was #1, but if what Barrett is saying is true (hint: it might not be) then we start to think 2. In that case we’ll be seeing who’s laughing in a couple of years time.

If his foot injury was such a problem, Fremantle wouldn't even be offering pick 11, or a very expensive contract. Even Jack Trengove who was hit hard by a navicular fracture, managed to return and play more or less the same level of football he was playing pre-injury.

Freo just dicked around, Dodoro-style, and desperately want to keep the pick 5 they're getting from us. They are going to regret it.

Barrett now reporting Melbourne never asked for two first rounders, and were happy with 5 and 23. What an embarrassment for Fremantle.

Brisbane fans are way too invested in this hahaha

If what Barrett is saying now is fact (stop s******ing at the back please) that Melbourne would've done it for 5/23 when in fact they've been claiming it's worth 2 top 10 picks then this is going to get done.

Nope. We announced it, presumably with Trengove’s consent in the vein of announcing that any player needs surgery. Richmond then followed up with their own statement.
