Hi, I'm Sydney, I'm going to trade out a KPF for your third rounder because your fans think its reasonable, even though I probably won't even use that third round pick. Deal!

Come on lads, ease up. If Sydney believe they're going to utilise that third rounder or trade it on, then yes, but it is no longer as simple as 'X player is worth Y pick'. Its about how the return for your asset is going to used.

Agree Buddy going to Swans is highly improbable. I can't understand though why Buddy hasn't been linked to Freo? He's a WA boy, Freo want key forward for when Pav gone (& to help get a premiership if he's got another year left in him) and last year Freo were linked to Cloke so one assumes they have some cap space (not as much as GWS but if Buddy wants premierships he'll get one sooner with Freo than GWS).

Did Freo say they didn't want Buddy? If so, did they say why?

The Freo link has been bandied about a little on BF and in the media. I'd think Freo more likely than GWS given his WA background. He could always go home to play Angry Birds and go skateboarding or trampolining with Sharrod.

But again I think it's just a financial reality that no one can come close to matching GWS and that's the only reason Buddy will go - he's setting himself up for life financially and good on him for doing it. 2 flags with the Hawks and now he's off to kiss babies, count his money and stand in the forward pocket in awe of a better player than he in Jeremy Cameron.

Sydney win if we do

Pick 27 for a guy who has played one year of average footy is overpay i dont care what anybody says.

Well it does go on there Recent Form and not going back for a few seasons

I'm all for getting White if it only costs our 3rd rounder.

According to the AFL website, Jesse White is set to land at Collingwood for as a little as a third round pick. White is set to meet with Collingwood officials today to thrash out a deal that will see him become a Magpie in 2014, after nominating Collingwood as his preferred destination.

Do that in a heartbeat :thumbsu:

Link Mate?

You wouldn't be open to trading Shaw to Sydney in return for White and their first pick?
I'd be very open to that but I doubt the Swans would be.

Lyon said they wouldn't be approaching Franklin at the start of the year. I believe Lyon wants a contested marking key forward for his gameplan and that's not a strength of Franklin.

I hope he doesn't turn out to be a white elephant.

Hi, I'm White and I want to go to club X if you don't agree to a trade with club X then I will enter the ND or PSD and you will get Dave's empty packet of twisties for me.

With hearing the Hine Interview. I am not sure if he has committed to us yet.

Though Hine can give nothing away
Exactly, the next few weeks is a massive game of poker.
We cannot give out our strategy or end game.
If Hine states we are very keen on picks 1 or 2, then he just increases the value/cost of those picks.
If Melbourne or GWS want something from us, let them dangle the bait & take it from there.
I have a feeling we will have a good F.A & trade period this year.

1. I like the idea of trading a 3rd rounder for White
2. I like the idea of trading Shaw for White + Syd first pick too but think it's too much of a win for us.

If I was Sydney I'd be much more likely to go with option 1 than option 2.

I'd think about White for our 2nd rounder OR Shaw for White and Swans 2nd rounder.

I'd probably place White's value as somewhere between our 2nd & 3rd rounders and would prefer Shaw for T Adams if a straight swap is possible.

What about White for our 3rd round pick and an exchange of our 2nd round picks. That would improve Sydney's position in the 2nd round by 4 places and still give us a realistic chance to either pick up the player we are interested in for our 2nd round pick or possible make the pick attractive enough to on trade it for another player. At this stage we would be trading pick 27 for pick 31.

Sorry, this is just shit reporting. I know I'm banging on about it but people need to stop quoting that facebook page. Firstly they're apparently quoting the AFL website which posted....

Collingwood could land Sydney Swans mobile key forward Jesse White with a second- or third-round pick, according to News Limited.

Some may not agree, but to me there's a significant difference between "could" and "set to". And sure, it's correct to say it was suggested "as little as a third round pick" could to the job, but I would have thought the mention of a second round pick warranted inclusion as well considering it was in both the referenced article and then one that the AFL site were referencing themselves. That one was by John Ralph, which was just speculation in itself, so we've got speculation sourced from speculation which turns into a definite at the afl rumours facebook page.

With Sydney now making a pitch for Buddy, I dont understand why we are not going for Sam Reid?!? Much better player than White, we have currency and it will relieve salary cap for Buddy. Reid is on a lucrative 5 year deal with Swans.

Surely he would be 3rd in line with Buddy and Tippett!

Because he will command a first round pick? or maybe because he is signed up for 5 years?
Only on Bigfooty written contracts are worth less than the paper they are written on....
