From what I've seen Armstrong looks like a less accountable version of Yags, who can't even get a game himself, would be staggered if we got him.

Well it looking like that.

I am not a fan of it though

White's manager was just on SEN and was pretty confident that the deal will get done.

Said he wouldn't dismiss other clubs making an offer but said Jesse wants to go to the Pies.

Interestingly he also said that things have been delayed as we have been working on getting Karnezis.

Cant wait for us to **** this one up. Classic collingwood. We delay it someone like the bulldogs could snap him up. Wont take long to deal with sydney and we all know $$$$$ can talk. Just ask mitch clarke

Why would the nothing pick we're using for Karnezis get in the way of using 35 or whatever for White?

Anyone know why Carlton arent doing everything they can for white? Yeah sure he isn't a superstar just yet but their lack of Key Forwards surely would see them chasing anything.

Cos they were late to the party. We had done the ground work before the trade period even began.

They were interested, just like they chased Lynch last year, but they are too slow.

Granted in years gone by we missed a lot of our targets.

But we've made a lot of deals stick in the last few years. Jolly, Young, Lynch, Wellingham, Dawes. Elliot (and Clarke... hmm) for a first rounder. Ball for free. And now it looks like we'll get the Shaw / Adams deal done too.

I can't see a compelling reason why White won't be a pie at this point.

Collingwood should only give up its 4th or 5th round pick for White,he is out of contract and as he owes nothing to the Swans after they tried to unload him to the Crows last year. The Swans have to make room for Franklin and need to get rid of up to 4 players on their list they dont want. They have to take whatever Collingwood offers, otherwise the Swans will have to delist White and he becomes a delisted free agent. Collingwood should remember what happened with Nick Davis when they were in a simlar situation.Actually if you think about it a 5th round pick should be plenty for an unwanted player, who has said he wants to come to Collingwood.
The Pies could do something like that but at the same time they'd be screwing up any future deals with the Swans. It's not worth it when you're talking about a mid range pick in a weak draft.

Honestly, name one trade we have stuffed up in the last 3-5 years?

Every man we have wanted we have scored.

No. 14 & No. 46 I think was unders for arguably the best Ruckman at the time (apart from cox). No one new that Jolly would go downhill so fast, but you got a premiership. I would have thought 14 & early to mid second rounder was fair price.

But really semantics, we as two clubs trade quite well.

14 & 46 for Jolly and you say it's unders. 14 was Jetta and 46 had a hand in landing you Kennedy & McGlynn. If you aren't happy with that I'd be happy to give Sydney our DT compo pick (probably 11) for Jetta & Kennedy!;)

Mercy is not always repaid in kind.

I say screw them to the wall. They have taken full advantage of 'COLA' and have been ruthless in their acquisition of Franklin. We need to be just as ruthless.

The hold up will have been the Heater deal and the pick(s) coming our way for that.

Once that is sorted the rest should fall in to place pretty quickly

Jesse White's manager Ben Williams is hopeful that the big Swan will be traded to Collingwood by the end of the week.

Jesse already told me this before we locked lips at Doncaster watching Gravity.

Great flick.

do you really think a professional sports manager is going to sign with the bulldogs just because he can't be bothered waiting a few days for Collingwood to put an official offer on the table?

Or do you think he will consider the bulldogs offer then wait the few days to see what Collingwood does and then make the best decision for his client?

Which option do you think is more likely?

You never know. Some managers we know only do what is best for themselves. Ralph Carr is a perfect example of this. As if Paul Conners since he only has about 6 clients left.
