I'm fine with that. I think we should do it every single year so that players at the Magpies know one of them will get drafted. It will ensure we attract much better quality players to the Magpies and will help the development of all our other kids.

Did some digging, and I'm probably missing a lot of names, since the end of 2013, 30+ SANFL players have been taken from us by other SANFL clubs.
We've also helped develop 20+ AFL listed players that have been delisted and went straight to other SANFL clubs, all unable to be listed for our SANFL list.
How much would have the club made if transfer fees applied to these players?

I wonder what the crying would be if it was Adelaide who signed a Glenelg player?
Other sanfl fans being outraged by this is not too dissimilar to them sooking about the mid season draft. The SANFL is simply a stepping stone to the AFL, how do they not get this? This guy doesn’t have dreams of winning a flag in the SANFL, it would be nice but he wants another crack in the AFL.
He has clearly decided that playing for our SANFL team gives him the best chance of getting another crack in the AFL

Yep, bang on. Easy way to get value out of midseason picks that are mostly a waste (apart from Logan Evans, who we got in this exact way)

In fairness, I think we have in the past. It's definitely how we got Luke Surman and exactly why he left after the mid season draft.
