Can't get to the game on Friday night but can make open training 1145 at Leederville oval....good opportunity and great time

I guess it depends on how settled the starting lineup for round 1 is.

I'd suggest Palmer, Smedts and Marchbank are locks to play but the door may still be open for the likes of Cuningham, Pickett and Fisher to debut - even if their aerobic fitness and ball winning ability is a way off AFL standard. At which point do you say to the likes of Thomas, Lamb and Boekhorst - sorry folks if you want to play against the Tigers, star with 30 possessions in the VFL or else?
Forward line still a mess - give Le Bois another hit out.

I believe it's just the 6 man bench for this game.

Hoping for:

FB: Marchbank Rowe Plowman
HB: Docherty Weitering Simpson
C: Murphy E.Curnow Cuningham
HF: Wright C.Curnow Pickett
FF: Silvagni McKay Armfield

R: Kreuzer Cripps Gibbs

Int: Casboult, Gorringe, SPS, Buckley, Thomas, Palmer

Just to see how the game plan fairs with more senior bodies to feed the footy to our young talls. Last chance for McKay and Gorringe to impress for R1.
It's an 8 man bench as it turns out, but full quarters with regular time-on rules.

Chuck Smedts and Polson into my team.

Are Sumner and SPS going to WA?
He[sumner]has not been seen anywhere, got a glimpse of him in rooms in JLT 1 when Gorringe injured his achillies. He seemed to have a slight limp ?
That dont make sense and he isnt on injury list,so he may be on a limited program or they are just going to save him for round one?or he has other issues or something has happened we dont know about?
SPS should play this time in JLT 3....cant wait

Go SPS! On his own slag heap too. Cmon peeps what's the word on Sumner...

It was the last preseason game of 2015 when Cripps first took control of a game. Would be awesome if some of the 2015 draftees (Weiters excepted) can show they can play a full 4 quarters at a good level. Charlie to get 20+ and a couple goals pls.
Is SOS fit to play? (is there a reason he missed last week when the other 4 draftees didn't?)

Macreadie, Fisher and Polson all have a shot at round 1, in that order imo. Macreadie looked more comfortable than some of our senior players on the weekend. Keen to see them all get another run on Friday.

I'm trying to stay positive ahead of this weeks game. Important to put up a top standard effort and give us momentum heading in to round one. Not paying too much attention to the last two weeks and not panicking just yet. Let's see what happens this week. A victory over Richmond round one to kick start the season would be bliss. Go Blues.

His was the best improvement from 1st to 2nd game .

Not as hesitant and certainly more involved. Interesting given the lack of midfield power.

He might be one of those guys who don't believe somethings possible until he's actually done it. They need their ability and instincts verified before they can progress.

These types dismiss all the tyre pumping they get as just that . Reckon Simmo would have been one of those types for a while.

And he's played 3 games!
Give him some time ffs
Got some classy attributes, and looks very determined

Got an update for y'all on Samo Seaton.
He's back in full training, won't play for the blues this week but will play VFL praccy next week bar interruption.
And if it goes well he will push for round 1 selection.
That'll be an interesting run for SPS, given there's currently no VFL game after this weekend until 3 hours before round 1.

Haha . Dunno what he meant by that then , maybe VFL match sim?

But whatever he meant, the good news is he's fit and ready to play a match.

Weitering due for a rest, you'd think.
How are we going to push FREO and get into round one form....we got to hit them with everything and hope for a very close game.
If we pop out to a few goals in front then you will see the Weiterings,Murphy ,Gibbs,Cripps miss a quarter as an example...

As much as we would like we wont field young teams in the AFL like we did in JLT 2...its a strong draft this year but Bolts wont tank...we will fight with our best as we did last year and may even do better the second half of the season with two preseasons under Bolton. We will see plenty of our 2nd years though and our best first years will also.....[SPS]
the rest via VFL...and should do well there and some may push through late season....
-Fisher
-LeBois
-Mc Creadie
-Polson
-Williamson
-Kerr
some of these wont make Afl standard and will need to be evaluated in the Vfl at Northern.

Hopefully he means this weekend's VFL match as they didn't want to risk him taking the plane ride and cramping up, but I guess we'll known with squads out tomorrow! :)
