Bit upsetting that neither Coffield or Young won’t play either of the preseason games, unless Coff gets a late call up.
Can’t wait to see Roma in the tuck though.

St Kilda and proud.
I can't see how Young fits in to be fair. Even with Billings and Gresh playing up the ground we still have Kent, Long, Parker and Lonie playing the same role. All those guys performed last week (except for Long) and all deserve a crack to play round one.

What’s the go with Austin. I would ve thought this would basically be the round 1 side . Is he still injured. I thought the club said a while back he was on track yet it looks like Joyce is gonna be the one they go with .
Not listed on the injury list which I agree is strange.

Joyce has been strong but you'd think they'd still like to have a good look at him. Battle still looks as though he's got a lot to learn and I don't want to see Robbo played as a key back.

Maybe he got a bit of a rocket. Surely he'd be ahead of Paton?

Exactly. His less than impressive self-management over the break has come back to bite him. The Cho sending a strong message. If only Hunter Clark hadn't got him hooked on raisin toast. It's been the ruin of many a poor boy, and god I know I'm one.

I think it’s still 8. Hoping Coff makes the cut.
The conditioning staff only used 6 on the bench against the Kangas anyway, even though they could have used 8. They wanted to get the extra miles into their legs.

House of the rising bun.

I recon they (the coaches) must see a bit in battle playing down back. I recon Austin has looked bloody good playing the loose defender and I think would pair well with Brown or Joyce. He is also a fair bit taller then Battle which should help with the intercepting role.

Either Austin is pretty underdone or still injured (don’t think he played for Sandy last week?) or they recon Battle will be a very good CHB.

You see the irony here is that you are relying on your own anecdotal evidence to dispute the anecdotal claims of others.

At a quick glance Acres attended 6.3 ruck contests per game for a total of 76. The next midfielder was Steele for a total of 10 for the season. His highest were-
11 in round 3
10 in round 4
14 in round 5
15 in round 6
And 15 in round 20 against the bulldogs after returning from injury in round 19.

This wasn't to say he was the primary ruckman. But rather that he attended a decent amount of ruck contests when there were actual ruckmen available, which may have exacerbated his injury.

I'm not sure you understand what irony means because I think you proved he wasn't, outside of the game against the dogs which was because Hickey went down and I think Carlise did some rucking too, he wasn't played as a ruck.

Contesting 3 hitout's you think makes him played as a ruck? Maybe in an AFLW game that might be the case.

Looks like Austin played the first quarter - don't know if he played a full game though

Kent listed as out for the year with an AC joint on the Footy Live app.

Please tell me it’s a **** up...
Unless, he did it after I left training, he has seen a specialist, the club has had a presser and its out on the wires, I find it hard to believe.
Was training today all drills, also interviewed for tonight's news.

What are you on about? I literally explained to you what the ironic part was- "You see the irony here is that you are relying on your own anecdotal evidence to dispute the anecdotal claims of others. "
It had nothing to do with whether or not he was in the ruck.

I wasn't trying to prove one way or the other, I just provided you with the ruck stats from last year which you couldn't find for yourself because you were too busy whinging.

I mean, I even made the stats as easy as possible for you to understand and you've still bungled it. Where are you getting the "3 hitouts" from?
"11 in round 3
10 in round 4
14 in round 5
15 in round 6
And 15 in round 20 against the bulldogs after returning from injury in round 19. "
Here let me explain- that means there were 4 other games where Acres attended a similar amount of ruck contests as that game against the bulldogs.

Now, do you want me to go get you the stats for AFLW games to show you how out of order that additional comment of yours was?

If our midfield can contain theirs we win. Their forward line is non existent hence relying on the mids to kick goals. Time to unleash ‘back pack’

I’d send Ross to Macrae in a tagging role and Steele to try and match it with Bont. When Bont rests in the forward line is when we should capitalise leaving Steele in the middle.

Paddy and Membrey to have a day out.

Steele 16 Tackles

Billings 30 + disposals

Gresham BOG and showing he can fill the Steven sized hole if need be.

Go Saints!!
