You tell me other than Clark which of our young talent has rotted in the vflThere is a reason. They love having all their youth rotting away at VFL level while they continue to play the older players.
The obvious ones are Kreuger, Clark, Constable, Narkle and de Koening (though the latter is a stretch). You tell me other than Clark which of our young talent has rotted in the vfl
The reason is simple enough: Wells wants to keep the player.27 for clark is overs. Cats just being difficult and bogging down a trade for no reason
No current season stats available
Loving all the people on here commenting wait and year and get him for free because he’s Uncontracted
The obvious ones are Kreuger, Clark, Constable, Narkle and de Koening (though the latter is a stretch).
I mean, Constable ffs. Ten years ago, if a player was busy getting 40+ per week in the VFL, he would find a spot in the seniors, no questions asked. Instead, everyone seems keen to focus on what he cannot do, rather than what he can.
we will just walk him to the draft.
Haven’t you heard SOS talk about Cerra? Haha

Ive also heard them talk about Cerra being walked to the PSD that Carlton can’t blow other Victorian teams out like they have done previous.
Hey guys n gals, why don’t we just agree to disagree on worth. Cats fans have their own beliefs, about what ever he is as a player and his worth, and we have our beliefs about what we need on our list, and his worth. The two perspectives are not always mutually compatible.
He’s only going to start 2022 as a fringe player again for what ever team he ends up with. I doubt he’ll be walking into our best 22 unless he proves himself beyond question on the track (regardless of our opinions here), and Geelong have their reasons for not playing him also.
So much argy bargy over a player that can’t hold a spot for a variety of reasons and appears now as something of an unknown quantity with an unknown future.
If he stays with Cats, good luck to him and them. I’m sure he’ll be happy to stay, if that be the case. If he ends up with us, good luck to him also.
Just hope he can find his mojo again in what ever team he ends up with, for the sake of the player, more than anything else.
haha I was being facetious.
if Clark gets done, it’ll be a 2nd rounder. Geelong knows he’s not worth a 1st. Contract or no contract.
Yeah, exactly. I feel there's a big disconnect between the club's list management side, and their day-to-day coaching and match committee side. Clark is easily in our best 22 IMO and has every right to want to leave. We did the same with Stocker. Lucky he got a run at the end of the year, or he would have been justified looking elsewhere.
haha fair enough .
See me personally I don’t like the talk of first rounder/second round pick
I like the numeral side better and I think pick 20 isn’t that far fetched.
But you say it will be a second rounder, which 20, as is 27 but we obviously have someone in mind around that 20 mark or as stated also in the media maybe we need 20 to package to get further into the first round
Also if you look back on the draft he was drafted in, for him to go pick 15
Any other year he would’ve been a top 10 pick, talent wise he’s definitely got it.
There’s something holding him back, whether that’s his shoulder and elbow injuries and whether it’s attitude “which has been mentioned all season”
It’s a classic stalemate.
Freo offer 27 - Gee Knock it back
Gee asks for 8 - Freo knock it back.
Meet in the middle, I think both clubs know his worth but it’s just about getting the best deal for your club.
Who wins I don’t know.
Ps.
has Clark requested a trade yet

hmm I dunno if he’s top 10 in any other draft.
I don’t think it’s meet in the middle, it’s more meet closer to 27 haha.
Plus it’s only day 1 of trades.
Geelong has every right to keep him, not bothered by Freo walking away. But Geelong will end up with a player who doesn’t want to be there, who’s clearly not best 22, and who may go for less next year. 27 might be the best you can get, especially if he doesn’t play much again.
haha fair enough .

This seems about right. If it wasn't for some sensationalist headlines and reporting on this one yesterday, is as simple as two opening gambits which are 19 picks apart. The truth is probably eventually somewhere in the middle, give or take a couple of picks and it seems many commenting from both sides agree.
Will be interesting if Fremantle do indeed end up with Pick 6 for Cerra, if they can then use Pick 8, maybe in conjunction with 27 to split and end up with a pick in the range Geelong are looking for and another pick themselves. For example on draft points they could use Pick 8 and 27 bundled to get Richmond's 15,26 and 40. They end up with Clark (15), Pick 6 so they are still well and truly at the pointy end of the draft with one pick and Pick 26 and 40.
Depends how invested in Clark they are versus getting their hands on 2 of the likes of Amiss, Erasmus and Johnson before the Eagles have a pick (not discounting clubs outside WA selecting them), as opposed to just one.
Talk about will Brodie to freo.
could have done something like the below.
Freo give 27, get will Brodie AND clark
Geelong give Clark, future 4th roun. Get 22
Gc give 22, Brodie. Get 27, future 4th round.
Gc then trade the 27 onto Collingwood rather than 22.
Gc get Brodie off the books as desired.
Freo get their guy with pick 27
Geelong get pick 22 which may appease them.
Not in recent years. The only one I can think of where you bombed was the Jesse Hogan trade, but at the time he'd just come off a very good season (2018) and was considered hot property. Nobody saw how far he'd fall over the next two years. Why wouldn’t Geelong try to fleece Freo ?
We are the town bike of trade week
Kerry Packer said “ you only get one Allan Bond in your life“ but the best thing about Freo for other teams is we show up every year numping it up
Kreuger has been injured. Constable won't make it. Narkle doesn't have the tank. Clark is the only head scratcherThe obvious ones are Kreuger, Clark, Constable, Narkle and de Koening (though the latter is a stretch).

You 100% sure that you'll finish below its next year?we will just walk him to the draft.

Rubbish it was plain as dayNot in recent years. The only one I can think of where you bombed was the Jesse Hogan trade, but at the time he'd just come off a very good season (2018) and was considered hot property. Nobody saw how far he'd fall over the next two years.
Hogan's 2018: 20 games, roughly 50 goals and 350 touches. Pretty outstanding from CHF and IMO no suggestion of mental health problems.Rubbish it was plain as day
