I think its actually shameful how he has been treated.

Society talks about bullying, this is a prime example.

I hope people really reflect on what they have done/said etc, that includes our own supporters
I'm now thinking I need to refrain from pinching my wife's arse when we are walking down the street.
She is going to be really upset. But I can't afford to find myself on the front page of the Herald Sun.

You’ll be fine if you leave your footy jumper at home.

I have always stood proud of Collingwood, rebuffed opposition supporters when needled or provoked , in the 52 years of supporting this club I could identify with , as it aligned with what I believed in , a fair go for all , not be pushed around by wanna be bullies , stand strong in the face of adversity, stand by your mates when they are down , pick them up when required , hold true to your ethos and principles. From the moment the fake DeGoey news hit , I have seen nothing of the above from the club I love , Pathetic Collingwood

There is a difference between doing that with your wife whose boundaries you know and doing it to a girl your hanging out in a nightclub with whose boundaries you don’t know.

This is the time Eddie Maguire really rises like the great phoenix.
When the media comes for the us, he is at his best!

To be fair to the club nothing they could have said or done would have prevented the media storm from happening this week.Once the media gets their teeth into a juicy Collingwood story like this, they just never let it go.

But they could have stood by their player who did nothing wrong. Instead they let it drag on for days, leaked news of withdrawal of his contract offer then penalised him.

Whether the media would have shut up, who knows? But a clear statement of support of JDG on Day 1 at the very least likely avoids the team getting smashed this weekend because one of our best players has walked away.

And the window slams shut yet again, unlikely to reopen before 2027…
Didn't hear much from you during our 4 week winning run. But as soon as something negative envelopes the club, here you are again. Why do you only make an appearance when things are going badly for the Pies? Genuine question

You just don’t notice when I post positives, I come and go but hardly drawn to this forum unless it’s to defend one of unfairly maligned players like JDG and Cox.

Matter of fact most of my posts recently have been after victories, but hey don’t let facts get in the way of your rubbish.

Okay let’s be clear on one thing, this situation exists because Jordy made poor choices in Bali.
More that a single poor choice was recorded and posted on social media.

If he struggles with impulse control he needs to either make sure that his friends don’t record him, or that they don’t post to social media any recordings depicting him, or that they put their phones in a hat before partying, or all three.

The video evidence is the only reason outrage nation was outraged. If they can’t see it, it doesn’t hold their interest. Same for Ginni and IQ, if there is no video it may as well never have happened, even if what they did was completely fine to any sane, rational human being.

I’m on the “nothing happened here” side of the argument so not sure why I’m copping all the grief. Just highlighting that it was very unlikely he had consent which is the argument being presented by many as his defence. It’s just wrong imho. Can’t take the media and the reporting of the saga to task for being wrong if the counterarguments you mount in support are just as wrong.

And what happens in the circumstances that they has sex the nights before. Does he still need permission to touch her boob. Or if they’d been groping each other during the nights before.

If all your going to go by is the one snapshot in time. Then you can hang the bloke. However there may just be context to the boob grab that isn’t shown. But there is context after it to suggest there was consent. Her statement gives at least that indication.

Well, my decision to not attend this week is directly linked to the clubs inaction and lack of public support to Jordan in respect to this entire fiasco.

Disgusted in them. Will cheer the boys from in front of my TV instead and to be blunt I hope others do as well.
I was invited to a corporate box……staying home now mate.

Eddie was on CH9 news tonight. He didn’t exactly come out all guns blazing in support of De Goey. He said some of the criticism was over the top, but he was pretty muted in his comments.
I thought Eddie was good actually. Basically put them in their place in response to the club not punishing JDG adequately.
I loved the line "....he is on parole for life!"
