• On Thursday, it’s reported that JDG has travelled to Bali. Outrage ensues from the media conglomerates.

• On Friday, JDG is filmed at a nightclub flirting with a woman and making gestures. The media thinks they have a story.

• On Saturday, the woman involved clarifies that nothing untoward has happened. This is the moment the story should have died.

• On Sunday, the narrative shifts away from JDG’s potential illegalities to a broader issue about JDG’s behaviour and past indiscretions.

• On Monday, the narrative shifts again towards a broader issue of Collingwood being sexist neanderthals. That’s the moment everyone should realise that Collingwood’s being used as a vehicle to propagate a woke agenda that all young men need to be demonised.

I fear the club will be reactive rather than get on the front foot and support the players. At least nothing further will come of Ginnivan and IQ.

The Ginni IQ rubbish as a front page lead will result in it switching back to what the age ran with the other day. Player's mental health due to media harassment. Club will be negligent if they don't go hard on that, which will help jdg.

Not one player has broken the law but with everything revolving around gender and men's politics at the moment, it's hard for the club not to sanction them. Any fine will be written off as too small, any education program is too easy to attend and cop-out of a real punishment.

DeGoey has a history of disrespectping women, guilty findings or not, he then partakes in a video clearly disrespecting a women’s personal space, and then these 2 clowns upload themselves rating women, I mean you could not make that s**t up, it’s a journalists bread and butter, with cake for dessert.

Firstly he wasn’t disrespecting her space. Context……She was craving the attention the whole night from young DeGoey. And vise versa. That’s what young people get up to.

Secondly, he didn’t put it out there. The young lady did. But I guess her virtue isn’t hers to discuss. It’s left to people like yourself to determine how social disrespected she was.

Yeah I get that they all took coke. But the point is the athlete is responsible for knowing what’s going into their body. While it might seem unjust, it’s the way it has to be, otherwise any athlete testing positive to a banned substance will just say “oh my [insert ingested item here] was cut with this banned substance so just let me off”.
To be honest, those boys were very lucky not to get the full 4 year whack.

On this rare occasion you might be right there GC. The WADA Code 2015 came into effect on 1 Jan 2015. This moved the automatic penalty from 2 to 4 years. The boys tested +ve in Feb 2015, which you would think gave them 4.

However at that stage I do not believe the AFL had yet rubber stamped their acceptance of the new Code. So I think (think) they came under the old 2009 Code. Likely they would have copped the same penalty under 2015 as there were reductions in there for co-operating, etc.

Who the hell do you think you are. People can do what they like with the monies they donate. And I mean donate, as some people pay for 4/5 Legends memberships and quite possibly don’t attend too many games.

It’s the halfwits like you who believed that the Do Better, Be Better report was going to save the club.

It was an exercise in futility that we got railroaded into by ideologues who had their own agenda for getting the club to pursue this garbage. We could do so many amazing things for a decade. And all it would take is one issue like this and we’d have all our history on show again from the hypocrites who don’t like us anyway.

What a ridiculous notion this club undertook in trying to apologize by acknowledging its past so called indiscretions. Well let’s just have a look at that in particular. This club has a long and proud history. Why? Because this club rose from and grew from the salt of the earth. The people that made this great club. Weren’t wealthy aristocrats. They were the down trodden. The lowest common denominator of people of the time. And as time went on we naturally attracted that type of demographic. They weren’t always doing the right things. There would have been a lot that were unsavory amongst the community. But they had one thing. The Collingwood Football Club. That they could gather and let off steam and support the men who represented THEM. Those men played for OUR club. The looked down upon people of Victoria. And those same people would defend their own by any means necessary. Like it or not.

All of these past supporters, members, players committees and coaches don’t need someone to apologize for them. They are what makes us a great club. Who we are is who we are. I don’t care what our past was like. I will rejoice about all of it.

Trying to change yourself to appease current day ideologies is in itself ridiculous and futility. As how do you really know that this is the appropriate pathway. When, 20/30 years from now these ideologies could be seen as unacceptable in the same by future generations. So there is only one logical position to take…….Be proud of who we are. The good and the bad.

The greater community will never accept us and nor should we want their acceptance. Like little lap dogs waiting for you master’s pat on the head and their approval. And until this realization is understood. We shouldn’t be trying to change ourselves for others approval. WE SHOULD BE WHO WE ARE. COLLINGWOOD.

I’m an educated person. And have enjoyed many of the finer things in life. But there is one thing that I enjoy the most. And that’s being a Collingwood person. I don’t need the club to be packaged up into a box and a pretty bow be placed on it. I don’t want us to pretend we are something we are not. And until we realize that we will ALWAYS be hated. No matter how much we do. And there is plenty that our club does that no other clubs do. Yet we don’t hear those things. Just how our supposed continued poor culture is brought up as the reason.

Well I’d rather be considered uncultured than to try and appease those who continually wish me harm. At least then I know who my enemies are. I’d rather we sit with the salt of the earth and be considered uncouth, than associate with the swill that only want your indentured servitude.

This is going to be what sparks our second major change: culture. We've got men like Darcy Moore and Mason Cox who act like they are grownups and then we've got boys. Dayne Beams was a nightmare for the club and this scandal will only continue to get worse because in the current climate, you cannot go around rating women, regardless of if it's a game or not. You especially can't make a TikTok about it. I don't think JDG, Quaynor or Ginnivan play because the club has to send a message. Whether or not a crime has been committed is another story but social standards dictate was is/isn't acceptable and despite JDG having consent, there's something off about it and the club is pissed with De Goey's behaviour. Quaynor and Ginnivan were just immature boys but that doesn't mean it's acceptable.
