The Demons, who were originally approached by Lewis’s management, will pay Lewis less than what his Hawthorn contract is in 2017, but the obvious sweetener is the three-year deal.

Hunt signed the deal back in May after only playing his fourth game.

Would it surprise you that a 21-year old would accept any deal put on the table at that stage? Since then he's become a regular in the Dee's side (hasn't missed a game since he debuted) and had "one of the best 14 disposal games" ever according to commentators. You could argue that hewas unlucky to miss out on both a Rising Star nomination and the Best U/22 side.Hunt has more runs on the board now then when signed back in May and could easily be asking for more money/more secure deal than he's currently got.

I’ve also heard from a source that Hunt has had quite a change in his personal life with him becoming single mid-season after breaking up from his high school girlfriend who lived near AAMI Park? Maybe he will want to get start afresh and get away from the memories attached to her?

Is that you Abasi?

Where does she live, Hisense arena?

She lives in the St Kilda area in a family investment property. Hunt would spend multiple nights a week there instead of returning home to his parents according to my information.
Yeah most people do spend time at their girlfriends place. Really find it hard to believe someone doesn't want to train at aami park because his ex girlfriend lives in St Kilda.

So no one in history has ever wanted to get a clean break from their environment that they associate with a past relationship after breaking up with their partner?
aami park has nothing to do with his girlfriend living in St Kilda. Hunt comes from Brighton 2 suburbs away from St Kilda, is he never going to go to St Kilda again?

Has Lewis got three years left in him?
To be honest, probably not. In the last two years he has trimmed down to keep up with the speed of the game. This has had limited success and probably has detracted from his physicality. Seems more of an accumulator these days that relies on his smarts and I hate to say it one way running.

I would like to get a future 2nd rounder for him but wouldn't be surprised if we accepted a 3rd rounder.

Better off holding onto him for another year & then getting a second round compo for him....Article says he's rejected the Suns, nothing else.

Pretty ordinary the Hawks trying to shop him around to GC.

Pretty logical more like it.

Lewis checked out GC Friday and Hopefully it shows GC no one wants to go there and the deal was done last night.

I hope Lewis does get 3 years he's been a warrior and contributed to the success.

Let's hope it's a good deal for all parties and over time he can work it out with Hawthorn he"ll have reunions etc in years to come.

I can see him smashing it to pieces for Melbourne with his bang n crash style and there up and comers. This is definitely a get for Melbourne no matter what they give up and it also shows that they are well respected now with Lewis identifying their up and coming talent.

Melbourne fans deserve success as they've waited a long time for it.

Already rejected.

If they don't cough up a 2nd or player then he'll stay....Pretty simple.

I think then that you will be very disappointed.

Hawks have f***** this up big time. too much bad blood for him to stay. Plus the Hawks spent the weekend trying to shop him up north too.

He will go, and will go cheap. Hawks have no bargaining power now, and if thy tried to force him to stay it will only further fracture the Hawks playing group.

Gold Coast yesterday? He was at the Caulfield Cup with Roughy.

I never said he wouldn't stay at Melbourne, nor go to St Kilda again. All I'm saying that if the rumoured trade is accurate, my sources suggest is that due to the previous reasons I mentioned that Hunt would happily accept being traded.

His current deal at Melbourne undervalues him.
