Do you really think someone leaked the exact details of the offer to some idiot journalist?

We probably made a cheeky offer and the bulldogs probably made a cheeky demand and both groups know roughly where it will end up

But bulldogs fans now that they're giving them away consider multiple seconds worth a first rounder but not when they were receiving them
There’s a quote from a bulldogs source in the article about us walking him to the draft, so it’s fair to say the info came from Dogs. Unless you are implying Edmund made it up?

And that's fine it looks like it'll cost you Dunkley at this stage unless you can find a way to get another 1st

If you give me a chance of having only one out of Dunkley or Ashcroft+Fletcher, I will always settle for the later.

Protecting our points situation is far more critical and we have to move early for that one.

So we actually did offer two first rounders and it was rejected.

Apparently a very weak draft for depth. Picks beyond first round in any draft are pretty useless/ pot luck tbh let alone this one.

Amazing how much value is placed on picks like 30 and 37 (will blow out a bit more as well) for them to reject two firsts and lose him for nothing.

Yes why choose the proven AFL talent when you can have whats inside the box

Dogs ask for 2 firsts.

Lions offer 2 firsts with pick 30 and a couple of junk picks back (37 doesn’t have much value in this draft).

Dogs fans think it’s outrageous? It’s only a pick 30 away from being what they asked for.

Taranto fetched a deal worth about pick 7 in the real world (ie. forget the silly points). Dunkley’s value is around pick 10, he’s a year older and less dynamic. 15 plus nice upgrades would’ve got there. Future first plus a decent 2nd gets there too (just).

I’d be more alarmed about Brisbane trading away the GWS second rounder than pick 15. That’s a bit inflammatory.

Do Lions fans still think you are acting in good faith?

Offer was 15, your future 1st for Dunkley, 30, 37 and a future 3rd!

Oh but I thought you guys always trade fairly and there was no tension between the clubs?

Yep, that's a fair deal for a player out of contract.

You get your two firsts that you are crying for.

So essentially we'd be upgrading two second rounders into two weak first rounders and paying the privilege of an extra third rounder for our B&F winner? Righto.

Asking for two second rounders back rates Dunkley somewhere around pick 30. Pay what he's worth or miss out.

You talk about Taranto being valued at 7 then neglect to mention it values Dunkley at 25

Edmund works with Pickers (Dunkley's manager).
Clearly, Pickering wants this in the public domain.

Simple, drop the pick 30 then. At least they could have until they traded out 15.

The "Bulldogs Source" wasn't quoted on the offer but was quote as saying the trade hasn't been done which means SFA

As I said. We probably made a cheeky offer and you guys made a cheeky demand but both clubs know roughly where it will end up

Protecting our points for a potential No.1 pick is always far more important.

You've taken Jamarra and Sam just recently, your mob will understand it better than most.

The deal was Dunkley + 30 + 39 + F3(42) for 15 & F1(15).

That would 'value' Dunkley at nice pick 26. No where near it.

More like a pick upgrade (30 & 39 for 15) and a future first.
Out picks 30 & 39 going out would mean we'd have no capital to get Lobb or other targets, even if the deal wasn't massive unders.

This is going to be so brutal to all the deluded bulldogs supporters
Why brutal? Not sure anyone is deluded about the situation. We coped with Stringer pissing off for 2 parts of f’all and we could cope with short change for Dunkley. It can’t be any worse than what the Hawks got when Franklin went to Sydney. That one was brutal. I just think with a couple of absolute freebies in Darcy and JUH over the last couple of years we are in a good position to take a stand and say no unless we get close to our value on him. The trading out of 15 early on looks suspicious but I would think the list managers will come up with something that works for all parties. If not I’d happily put Dunkley into the preseason draft but that’s just me!

Nope, you are wrong. It's easy to do a quick check on what the reported offer was (by multiple outlets now).

15 and a future first

For

Dunkley, 30, 39 AND a future 3rd

That's a rubbish offer and as much as you try to say those later picks have no value, the reason Brisbane asked for them back is because they do.
