Deficit doesn't bother us but again whatever suits your narrative

And just wait we will get everything we want because it won't cost as much as people want to make out because it suits them

Funny with the amount of "we just COULDN'T make a fair offer without demanding a bunch of draft capital in return, because our points!" Brisbane's coming out with, deficit seems to mtter an awful lot

The 'or else' is if the Dogs dig their heels in and let him walk to the PSD. Some may argue its taking a stand as a football club, others would say its stubborn and stupid to not get at least something. Either way Brissy does not gets its target in an area of desperate need. I'll be shocked if it does get to that.
Except even if you walk him to the draft he has a choice of signing a contract or not, and can just wait till he is a delisted free agent and walk into Brisbane anyway.

(Pointless talking about because if it happens both clubs will get a tap on the shoulder from AFL house telling them that whatever the last offer was has been accepted and to deal with it because they don't even want the possibility of a restraint of trade suit)

Not trying to make a big deal of it🤪
Similar age, similar goal output.. arguing that th dogs are underpaying (draft pick30) doesn’t make a lot of sense if you now have to trade in Gunston for something not dissimilar.

By th way... pretty clever not signing him as a free agent, effecting the McStay compo

Also pretty clear Hawks want to trade to as they would receive nothing anyway due to landing Aamon as a FA. Works both ways G.

Two firsts, with picks going back so they could match a bid on Quaynor. Essentially what we offered you up front for Dunkley
They're not at all similar.

Lions receive: Pick 18, F1 and pick 56
Collingwood receive: Dayne Beams, Pick 41 and 44

The proposed deal for Dunkley (who's 5 years younger at the time of trade)

Western Bulldogs receive: Pick 15, F1
Lions receive: Josh Dunkley, 31, 39 and a future third.

For it to be remotely similar it would have you receiving Dunkley and 39 for your pick 15 and future first. The 41/44 in the Beams deal and pick 30 in the proposed deal yesterday cancel one another out.

This trade will get completed by Wednesday and Dog fans will be “geez we screwed the Lions over” and Lions fans will be “geez we screwed the Dogs over”.

It’s how trade period works - all the angst from BigFooty posters in the interim is pointless.

Good lord, who added the Treloar trade as a comparison of the dogs being “difficult” ?

🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
I know right, being difficult would've been to not do the deal at all and let Collingwood deal with the ramifications of a salary cap breach.

Once you salary dump someone and openly kick them out, your hands are completely tied.

Similar to how stupid we were with Stringer. We lost all hand.

I was actually posting Dayne Beams’ trade in relation to Rory Lobb being 30 next year and his worth, Not Dunkley. But I just drew comparisons to our original offer being similar to that trade

Hopefully both list managers are talking over the weekend and it gets done on Monday.

There has been a lot of :eggplant: swinging on both sides. Can we just agree that Dunkley gets to Brisbane on a reasonable deal. He was a vg player for us, got a premiership medal, so wish him the best. After a good night sleep, I hope he doesnt get walked into the PSD, he deserves better.

Is there any clarity on which second round pick Brisbane has? The AFL website says it is tied to GWS.
If that's the case then I'd say Brisbane's future first round GWS future second and 21 for Dunkley and 39 is probably a reasonably equitable trade.
