Is there any clarity on which second round pick Brisbane has? The AFL website says it is tied to GWS.
If that's the case then I'd say Brisbane's future first round GWS future second and 21 for Dunkley and 39 is probably a reasonably equitable trade.
Brisbane has their own future second and Geelong’s future second. They traded Collingwood’s future second that was received by GWS for the Bobby Hill trade to Gold Coast.

I read that and imagined GWS recruitment manager laughing at the whole competition, AFL, journos etc.

GWS still have their own F2 but ran rings around everyone providing updates for last 2 days. Amazing.

Is this the same Collingwood who we openly traded Lipinski over too last year without a fuss?

It’s a silly comparison because it’s a silly comparison. Tim Taranto is the perfect comparison but hypocritically, there’s a few Brisbane fans that refuse to acknowledge it for some bizarre reason.
Lipinski was a fringe player, hardly anything else you could have expected there.

I agree Taranto is a good comparison, I actually think Dunkleys has better upside than Taranto, I can’t wait to see him in a lions jumper next year.

We don’t know what the trade will be, but the speculated pick 21 and F1 is comparable to 12 and 19, which bizarrely Bulldogs supporters refuse to acknowledge

12 and 19 =/= 15 and future 15-18

Trust me, we acknowledge it, just haven’t received that offer YET or anywhere near it, that’s the problem.

How is 21 or your likely F1 near 12?

I don't agree that the deals are similar at all. Pick 21 as it stands right now will be pick 23 once all is said and done. Then we're relying on you not finishing top four to make the first rounders in either deal comparable, which is more unlikely than likely you'd think.

Edit: AND that deal also asked for two second rounders back to you.

If your best is F1 and F2, which I don't believe it is, then he's just not as valuable to you as you're making out. Should be happy to see him walk and save those extra draft spots for something you rate, in your own view, as better.

Damo said the Lions are a good trader and will get the job done, and criticised the Dogs for wanting to play victim in the Dunkley trade and predator in the Lobb trade.

And Hutchy saying 1 pick between 10-20 is fair value. I actually think that’s unders, but not far off what the meat of the deal should be.

In any case, I thought some Bulldogs fans were saying the media were unanimously scathing at Brisbane…

“He doesn’t want to be at the Bulldogs”
So,according to that little snippet independents at large value him somewhere between 10 and 20. We've offered well above that. I believe Dunkley is worth a mid first round pick. The fact that it has taken this long for the Bulldogs to drag this one out is purely for their fans.

Regarding the bolded

And your pick 19 will also go out to 21 so why mention one and not the other

Like the Dogs finished 2nd in 2021 only to drop to 8th this year

Be that as it may, to suggest the initial deal and the deal done for Taranto are even remotely similar is absurd.

I think our respective ladder positions next year will be unpredictable.

Lobb will be 30 before next season starts. I can't think of any 30 years olds that have traded for a higher pick than 30. So what we are offering is more than fair. Can't say the same about Brisbane's offer.
Dogs are tough to predict. Do you rebound, hold steady or slump

We're f'd though.
Brad knows it and has tempered expectations already. Top 5 pick next year is almost guaranteed

Player agent shock!: Liam Pickering angling for the easiest path for his player to sign huge contract.

Pretty much, this is what Pickering does.

"He doesn't want to live in western Sydney anymore. He wants to come home, and you know what? He's going to come home," Pickering told AFL Trade Radio.

"Whether it's this year or next year, that's what will happen. As we sit right now, he'll be requesting a trade to the Western Bulldogs at the end of next season.

"I think it would be a ludicrous situation to have a player playing for the Giants who wants to play for the Bulldogs, and a player playing for the Bulldogs who wants to play for the Giants, when there's a mechanism to get the deal done."

Publicly advocates for his client, while also scoring himself some media coverage. Rinse and repeat.
