Judd gets 3 weeks, escapes attempted murder charge

Q: Just how much of this sort of crap do you think Judd would be copping week in, week out, year in, year out. Judd (and the others above) can't fart on a football field without being rammed into the turf by five players. Big f%^ken deal if they give a bit back occasionally.

Can't ever remember him being eye gouged. So, how much of "this sort of crap": none. Dog act.

Not only has Judd brought the game into disrepute, if he wins the 2009 Brownlow, he'll do the same to that award. Not much can be done about that, but it will be forever tainted if he does win it.

As for the 2010 Brownlow, my understanding is that a player is ineligible for the award if he serves a suspension during that season, regardless of when the offence occured, but I'm prepared to be proven wrong on that.

Bit over the top.
Why would the 2009 Brownlow Medal (awarded to the best & fairest player of the H&A season) be tainted if Judd won?

Can't find the rules at the moment but I'm 99.9% sure you are wrong on the 2nd point.

He's done the crime, he'll do the time. Would have him at the Lions every day of the week!

Let me put in my two cents worth:

- 2 weeks (or 3 weeks) is fair enough - deserves it.

To all those flogs carrying on about how his halo has slipped - let me ask you one thing (and this applies to all the absolute superstars out there including Buddy, Matthew Lloyd, Gary Ablett, Reiwoldt etc ...):

I agree with you however none of the players mentioned above have been charged twice with the same disguisting offience. I would accept a fist to the face or another players gut but the head is out of bounds according to the AFL - what is even worse is that he used the excuse that he tried to use a pressure point attack.

Chris, after the Campbell Brown attack you got off because Brownie lied - what the hell are you doing it again for

Oh and one other thing if you try and pop the finger in young Rebecca and miss what excuse do you use then - just doing the Hopiate :D

Fair summary of what's going on imho.

Absolutely stupid act by Judd and the penalty is appropriate, with over the top bigfooty commentry.

I was disgusted and supprised when he had a got at Brown years ago. Watching on TV over the weekend has unbelievable. He was so casual and considered and would obviously be captured on TV.

It is difficult to imaging why he would do so unlwess he has a brain wiring problem.

Obviously not an eye gouge but still a rediculous thing to put fingers anywhere on an opponents face. Deserved the suspension no doubt so he'll cop it and move on.

Sweet.

Open season on Aaron Joseph folks. Andy Lucimitis says its okay.

Simon Black gets tagged just as hard as Judd, never seen him go the eye gouge.

3 weeks is not enough. What he did was disgraceful.

The bump is actually part of football - the eyes go nowhere near the ball other than to look at it. To even have the thought process of attacking a player's pressure points or his eyes or whatever he supposably tried to do is quite disturbing.

Very true BrownDog,

There's not many Carlton supporters defending his actions, even his bizarre excuse. I just think he was being scragged and snapped.

It happens to the best midfielders: Ablett, Black, Harvey,Voss etc (and of course Judd). Taggers will do what they can to put them off their game, Joseph included.

Great win by the way, I was gutted but have full respect for Brissie. Good luck against the Doggies.
