Someone posted this on the richmond board:

Tiger beer logo anyone?

Looks fairly similar, I think we know where the designer got his inspiration from.:p

Sorry Arden, I got distracted. I don't mind the logo, it would be good to see what they will do with the writing but really if it's that close to tiger beer that's a pretty average job by the designer, it looks very similar

Ohh and that eagles jumper with navy someone posted, spot on!

Would look good if they hadn't made their jumpers one of the best in the AFL 18 months ago.

Good effort though.

Speculation:
Next Tuesday (28 June) is the Richmond members' cocktail night... there's a possibility the new logo could be publicly released then. I'll be going so I'll find out then.

If the Australian Football League, the owner of all club logos, registered this design, it's most likely to be for the club nicknamed the Tigers.
Ah didn't realise the AFL did. Interesting that there is no name on that logo then. Thanks Mero.

I've never looked at sunny ray for more than a few seconds, but today after seeing him on the TV I would love if the team used his jumper next year as it looks excellent.

you're joking right ??

they should ditch the home and make the wave the home and the white wave jersey the clash

No no no.

The wave jumper is plain ugly. The wave just doesn't fit in well with the Suns logo. Everything looks claustrophobic. Then, when you see the side, it looks even worse. The back and front don't join properly. It's awkward and really quite noticeable.

The only reason it's around is to tap into the market via a fad. Side splashed designs are all the rage. It'll be replaced within five years.

Mero posted an alright clash jumper in this very thread. I'd like to see that implemented. A yellow jumper, with red socks and shorts, might look alright.

EDIT: During the Fremantle - Lions game, I saw Asics branding on one of the tiers signage. With Puma rumoured to be quitting the Aussie market (excluding Hawthorn), could Asics be the new WCE manufacturers?

sure the wave might need a little bit of tweeking BUT it is original and a great gersey for the Suns:thumbsu:

Puma bailing out has been a rumour for years, I'll believe it when I see it.

The sun rays is original aswell and it suits the team better as you know the team is called the suns not the waves.

There is nothing original about the GC wave. Hawthorn, West Coast, and Adelaide all had similar designs. The mascot on the left of the jumper, peaking into the centre is the same basic idea on all four jumpers. It's crass.
