I'd love to see a league-wide 1990s themed retro round with some of the following features:
  • All teams jumpers to feature 1990s AFL logo in place of the current one (gold coloured version for Collingwood)
  • All teams shorts to be styled as per the 1990 standard (mini VFL logos down the sides for Victorian clubs and the later AFL version for interstate clubs)
  • Adelaide: Inaugural 1991 jumper with original "Camry Crows" sponsorship logos
  • Brisbane: Depending on whether they are fixtured to play Either full 1990 Fitzroy jumper with blue shorts, original Brisbane Bears jumpers with maroon shorts
  • Carlton: 1990 styled CFC logo on jumper
  • Collingwood: 1990 replica jumper to be worn with black shorts
  • Fremantle: Inaugural AFL jumper from 1995
  • Gold Coast/GWS: "fauxback" 1990s designs featuring club colours
  • North Melbourne: Original bounding Kangaroo jumper worn as away jumper in 1996
  • Port Adelaide: Inaugural AFL jumper from 1997
  • Richmond: full black back with yellow numbers
  • St Kilda: Crusader jumper worn as home jumper in 1997
  • Sydney: 1990s Swans jumper with white back (as worn during Capper era)
  • West Coast: 1990s home royal blue jumper with original eagle head logo and "EAGLES" lettering
Retro/old styled sponsor logos where possible for all clubs

I made a few examples in AFL23, I know this Lions kit isn't from the 90's but I'd love to see it done eventually. I'd 100% buy one.

Maybe red shorts? And I don’t know about the yellow cuffs, but I really like this design overall, reckon it would be a simple yet striking one to adopt
Yeah i was thinking yellow shorts as it makes it visually distinct from Hawthorn (brown shorts), and 2 stripes on red, as opposed to Hawks with three brown stripes on yellow.

Adding blue to gold coast in theory is good, but it's the same colours as Adelaide and pretty much the only other side in their state in the lions. Need to stick with the yellow and red. The Subiaco design someone tried but didn't execute well, but done properly it would look very good.

The Giants colours and designs have improved massively since puma took over, but I agree orange and blue would have looked superb. Also they won't be going away from the orange back, I suggested it when I spoke to Dave Matthews this year and he said 'no orange is our main colour, the club loves it and we wanna be bold'.

Hello, long time no post-a-design. I'm back, baby.

Here's a Melbourne clash idea that has been done to death, however there's a subtle hint of a vee with a fading gradient, as a throwback to the years where Melbourne did wear a vee instead of a yoke in 1919-1924. Was tempted to have vees all down the red but the MFC is a strong enough design.

PSA: I've also decided to create an Instagram for my design work and overall growth with this template, so I can force myself to get back into the habit - you can follow me here!

Actually not bad.
Reckon it would look better with a prison bar effect with the white stripe.
Instead of 1 thick stripe, make it 3 thinner stripes.

i reckon this would look really good and evoke the prison bars if you had a horizontal white line cutting the stripes off at the chest, like the prison bars. it's a reference to the same structure (wharf pylons) but it's clearly a distinct design so there's no risk of diluting that history by compromising it

I don't think it should ever be themed, it should be up to the club to choose.

As a 5+ year member now I have an injunction placed on me by the club in doing such a thing
