Dear god no.Do we think she runs for the nomination in 2028 ?
What is meant by freedom? I think polling has shown us that people in the US - and it's seeping into the world - can't freely express their opinion and feel they can only do it in the ballot box.
If you cant do this how are you truly free?
The campaign was a pathetic failure and it’s fair for people invested in Trump not returning to the White House to give an autopsy on where it went wrong. I think the vacuousness of the celebrity strategy is something that will stand out to people, irrespective of the payments or not (although the enormous amount spent for little reward ought to be scrutinised).
That said, I think there was a fundamental misunderstanding of what was driving people to vote. See below:
Instead the focus seemed to be on appealing to Republicans with conservative signifiers such as militarism and how much she wanted to be robbed so that she could shoot a burglar.
Interesting MAGA are so against celebrities that support liberal causes (which are some of the most iconic artists and actors of the last 50 years I got to say) but when they get Elon as part of the admin or Hulk Hogan, Kid Rock etc they turn a blind eye. 100% agree that celebrity endorsements are overrated but if it was the other way around they wouldn't care.
I'm not sure how the Musk's, Paul's, Rogan's, NFL players, PBDs of the world represent freedom, original thought, or being in touch with average Americans, but ok.Both sides had celebrities, but from the outside (I didn't count) it seems like there were way, way more on the Democrat side. The other thing is a good chunk of the Democrat side would have been from or near Hollywood, and that area (and profession) doesn't seem to resonate with the bulk of the country at all anymore. It certainly didn't help at a bare minimum.
Broadly speaking, and this is only one view, I get the impression a good chunk of the country thinks of Hollywood as the elites, pampered spoiled brats who are miles out of touch with most of the population. The other side had a few entrepreneurs, promoters, and podcasters, which seem to represent way more individualism and far more freedom. I think the dollar amounts don't matter nearly as much as what they each represent. Who knows.

Yeah I get that, or at least they use tangential interests/attitudes to get people in, and then explicitly/implicitly get people to support conservative or crackpot politicians.Rightly or wrongly they seem to be perceived that way.
I wonder how she will react when Republicans come up before her?she’s done with politics, i reckon. the law beckons, methinks.
There’s a very good reason you don’t see many overweight 78 year-olds.He won't have long to live. Anyone who is that overweight and lives off Maccas is on borrowed time.
Dear god no.
I mean she might, but would hopefully get nowhere near it.
Bit early for any meaningful polling.I have some bad news.
It’s a great article.nesrine is just brilliant.
Behind Trump’s victory lies a cold reality: liberals have no answers for a modern age in crisis | Nesrine Malik
As authoritarians triumph by lying and scapegoating, there is no hope for centrists doubling down on a broken neoliberal system, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malikwww.theguardian.com

You should just lock the thread then. Nothing else to discuss regarding Harris.
Way too early, who in their right mind wants Harris again? Is it just name recognition?

Yeah obviously it's a long way to go, but I don't believe similar polls at the same time had people clamouring for Gore, Kerry or even Hillary.
It seems at the moment that the general post-mortem points are:
a) it was largely Biden's fault. True to an extent but I think lets a lot of people off the hook (which is probably why so many of the Democratic leadership have embraced it)
b) the Sanders line of "we've become too compromised to the extent of not standing for anything" versus the centrist line of "we stand for too many niche left-wing causes and need to cut our ties"
In the muck of all this and the lack of anything like consensus, I suppose a lot of Democratic voters are just shrugging and inertia wins.
Can you provide evidence which demonstrates that she received a payment for her presence supporting Harris?Lol. true or not there is no way Beyonce would confirm it. Especially after the hit she took for not performing.
Beyonce should make a statement herself rather than using family surrogates but she wont bevause that would be her lying directly to her fans.
